Not at all! I love it and use it for everything. It’s a great way to take advantage of the cc system. They hate people like me and love people like you because you are helping them make money.
here - if u earn $4000. a month, use your cc to buy thing but only limit to $1000. When your bill is due, pay off the full statement of $1000.
then do it again the next month. Be disciplined about it. Never only pay the minimum… you will get into debt that would be a huge headache. never over spend. Live within your means.
I talk to my kids about budgeting all the time…

draw a circle pie… put % into the pie for the following… - savings, spending, investing, donating,. Ever dollar must have a job. Else it will get over spend.
also.., start listening to Dave Ramsey on YouTube to help you with finances.

from your question it just sounded like you don’t have a sense of how credit card works.
that’s why we have a huge credit debts in America now.

By living within your means… disability income should be okay…
90% of stuff sold are not needed.… just focus on basic needs such as food, shelter.
Find out her ways to generate extra income.

That's because you can't afford to use one properly by paying it off every month and carrying a zero balance. I pay $99 a year for a mileage card. It gets me a free checked bag for every leg of my trip, otherwise it's $40 each way. So I go on at least 2 golf trips a year. That would be an extra $160 if I had to pay for checking my clubs, so I'm already ahead. Plus, I get miles, and bonus miles for certain purchases and special promos. By years end, I've got at least one free ticket in Business Class.

I pay off the full balance every month so I don't have any accrued interest. That's where you get killed. If you can't afford to do that, don't get a credit card. I can, and it MAKES me money.

If you use them right… Such as pay them off in full every month. You can more easily dispute it if someone steals your card or hacks you. Then a debit account.

Also, when it comes to building credit. If you’re paying them off in full and not maxing your cards out. You’ll build credit. So you’ll be able to have more in a emergency as well as get better loan options. And get better rewards on credit cards.

But if you abuse the cards it hurts you.

If you shop around for a credit card that has no annual fee and pay it in full at the end of every month they can be convenient. They are certainly required for online purchases. Some credit card give cash back bonuses.

I like them as a way to borrow someone elses money and return it.

I don't like that they stick it to merchants, so will use cash if they accept it. The merchant is eating most of those fees.

It's a discipline issue. You must learn to play the game, or don't use them.

Merchants generally do not want to handle cash, but you can make purchases with a debit card on your bank account.
