6 moBecause "war" always rallies the idiots. Bush/Cheney used last, Bush Sr. used it before that. The answer here is they're killing two birds with one stone:
* Distract from the economy, the files, the sinking support by rallying dummies around whatever scenario they're going to paint for Venezuela. It will probably be something like " We stand for freedom, Maduro was a dictator, the elections were rigged, we're the guardians of Democracy on Earth." The cult will go "YEAH" ...
* Consider this: Who is going to replace the deported "illegals" to do the work in the fields? Hmmm... Venezuelans brought in to do seasonal work for no pay? Slavery all over again, just not Africans? Hmmm>?
* But most importantly... as always... follow the MONEY. The United States never does ANYTHING on foreign soil under most admins, Repubs more than Dems but both, that doesn't involve PROFIT. Democracy is the rally cry, Corporate profit is ALWAYS the real reason.
Try and remember Pete Townsend's immortal words and " Don't get fooled again". What's going on now is the same shit, different hat. Don't get fooled again.

@msc545 Seems obvious, right? But they won't be "illegals" because they're not entering the country by sneaking in or overstaying visas. They will simply be rounded up and brought in to do labor under the threat of harm coming to their families in Venezuela if they don't comply. Or, maybe they'll be told they're going to be paid. Who knows?
There's NO WAY the American agricultural economy can exist without migrant labor. If they don't secure a source of migrants, the only other answer is prison labor. I promise you, California would secede before letting its agricultural industry go to shit. They'll take the west coast with them too if that happens. So who's going to work the fields? Maga's? Charlie Kirks friends? No, the US needs a new slave source. - 6 mo
It does seem fairly obvious, now that you mention it. I'm a little embarrassed that I haven't thought about it, but this is why two brains are better than one. We might be paid a nominal amount. The argument for doing this will be that since they're not citizens, the minimum wage laws don't apply to them. This is, of course, grossly wrong, but at that point, it probably won't matter anymore. I'm not even sure it matters now. People who are here illegally now are not paid minimum wage, and the minimum wage laws are not enforced against those companies that don't pay them the minimum wage.
You are also correct when you say that the American agricultural economy cannot exist without migrant labor. That is absolutely the truth. I live in California, and in our Central Valley, we have the largest agricultural area in the United States. I have had many migrant workers as patients, and knowledge about the agricultural economy here is widespread. The only job we do other than employing migrants is prison labor, and prison labor tends to be somewhat unreliable. My state is absolutely going to secede before letting our agricultural industry go broke, yes, we also think that the West Coast will come with us, which includes Oregon and Washington.
Essentially, find your food elsewhere because we won't be providing it anymore we are not going to tolerate slave labor in our state. I know that the Southeastern United States will not only tolerate it, but they will also welcome it. And I think you should pin your hopes on an agricultural economy there. It happened before, and it can happen again, unfortunately. Most of those people are convinced that people with dark skin are subhuman and deserve nothing better than slavery.

Trump has been accused of breaking multiple U. S. laws, but has only been convicted of a few other things. At this point, there is testimony to the effect that he has broken these laws, but it needs to emerge more clearly before he can be convicted of yet more crimes. Additionally, there is a strong suspicion that he was involved in molesting young girls, that is, sexually molesting young girls. But again, there is no direct evidence of this as yet. We expect the evidence to emerge at some point from files that were kept regarding all of this. Again, Trump is trying to deflect interest and effort from all of these things.

Trump only cares about Trump. He doesn't give a shit about anyone else, including the idiots who voted for him.

The answer to that is easy. He's not a Democrat.

Had I been Kamala Harris, I would have had a recount of the "swing" states. These are states that go either red or blue in an election. In 40 years, no one has ever won ALL of the swing states in. a presidential election. Trump did after 40 years, which is unbelievable. Especially when Kamala was ahead in Michigan and Pennsylvania, and also neck in neck in Wisconsin, all swing states.
I cannot believe that a president who did nothing but complain about Biden's winning in 2020, attempted a coup on US soil on Jan 6, and with all the other terrible things he did, was voted in again after doing that. I like to think Americans are not stupid. This is why when Musk use gave him 270 M dollars for his election campaign, he may have done something to compromise the election. Even more than this, there is reason to believe he is also involved with Russia. For some reason, they are both tied to Putin, because it was found that Musk had been speaking to him over the course of some years, and Trump himself had done the same years ago. It's as if they owe him something.

but if that link is about epstein, then sure. you can say that, but it's not the truth. the truth is this is what we all feared he'd do. he'd cancel the primaries. i said it yesterday and it comes true overnight. that's some damn coincidence.

6 moProbably a mix of different interests, as well personal (shifting public attention), political as commercial. In politics there are only interests to be considered, sadly never human lifes. Mr Trump is no exception actually to that general truth.

6 mothat does not make sense. Trump is focused, not distracted. he deals with distractions, a whole bunch of them, thats how he got elected... remember... endless distractions.
you can decide what the key drivers are for Venezuala, but it's clear, it became one, and there's more coming... that be the next problem.
If the ducks don't get in line, they will be dealt with. like it or not.

Encourage trillions of dollars in private investment in the US? Rebuild the military? Deport 3 million illegal aliens? Give Americans the biggest tax cut in history? Stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon? Trump is removing a dictator that is running a giant drug operation from office and giving Venezuelans a chance to have a free and prosperous country.
