I suspect that comment is being made to posture for position in negotiating a purchase of Greenland. Not a wise negotiating move. Secretary of State Rubio has indicated that military action is not an option.

Let me remind everyone that attacking a 100 year old ally to steal their resources is beyond stupid.

Let me also remind everyone that USA is already permitted and has a military base on Greenland. A base they are also allowed to expand. That Europe is and always has been USA's strongest ally and is slightly bigger than USA.

Lastly let me point out that attacking an ALLIED country backed by other Allies who have openly spoken of fighting back if that happens and who have NUCLEAR BOMBS is so stupid I can barely fathom it.

US citizens, beside the fact of how dumb it is to attack your own ally to steal, you do realize that if EU then feels that enough is enough, the world ends and you could all be wiped out within an hour? You. Your parents. Children. Friends. Gone. For trying to murder your ally.

Any attack on Greenland is literally theft and betrayal with the hope the other side won't punish you and end all of your country because they are more reasonable than you. Please realize how beyond stupid that would be.

Not to mention, humorosuly, that your entire navy already lost to just a dozen Swedes in one single boat. There is more than one boat defending your Greenland. Your naval capability might not be enough.

Greenland would be strategic stronghold in the event of another global conflict. Despite Denmark being an ally, they are wholly unprepared to defend Greenland against China, which has already asserted their preparedness to take the north. Frankly, Greenland isn’t prepared to defend itself from ANY foreign invasion. Which is why Drumpf has joked about their national defense relying upon sled dogs. It’s ridiculous, but true.
As usual, there is also a wealth of natural resources in Greenland upon which the US would benefit from favorable negotiations and/or complete control. It’s actually a solid strategy because most of the minerals there would help western nations rely less on Asian resources for technology. Which is almost certainly why China has plans on it.

Yeah we've known for a long while, in fact what trump reference the Donroe doctrine has existed since 1823 by James Monroe the 5th president a founding father.
The idea is very simple and makes sense, along with it has been a view since US was founded pretty much that all of America is a US problem not European or anyone else. The Doctrine basically was an idea that Europe wouldn't be under threat from Europe but in turn nor would any of the land of America which is considered all that side.

Raping Greenland is all about the mineral wealth near the surface. Particularly rare earth minerals that are used to make magnets that go into electric motors.

It's not about drugs. Or "commies". Or immigrants. The 1% have overthrown the US government. They have bought the politicians. They have bought the courts. There is no one to stop them. No actually the stated excuse. Is that the US needs to annex Greenland for" security reasons? ". The beauty of the security reasons excuse is you can just say those words and everybody knows that whatever the security problem is is going to remain top secret because that's the nature of security problems. But it also means that you then can do just about anything you want in regard to that alleged security problem. Us troops are station there, not a lot, but permanent. Great place to keep tabs on putin. and to a point chairman mow's boys. Greenland is rich in minerals (if you get through all that ice) many of rich are the "rare earth" so EVERYONE NOW want a piece of it.
