Will the Ice shooter in Minneapolis be prosecuted by Minnesota?

I'm speaking about the ICE guy who shot and killed Renee Good for no apparent reason and was caught on video. I was specifically wondering if he is going to be prosecuted in Minnesota since that's where this crime occurred. It's likely to get very complicated since the federal government has or will have evidence that the state prosecutors will need, and the state prosecutors will probably have evidence that the federal government will want. I can imagine the two of them are going to fight quite a bit. All that being said, any federal prosecution would be almost impossible given the fact that this guy has already been pre-cleared by Trump and by Christi Nomes, who both claimed that he shot her in self-defense - something that the video of the actual incident seems to have magically forgotten.

I'm not sure who you think is going to pardon him. These are going to be State charges, not federal charges and no matter how much he would want to do it and pound and scream and yell about it, Trump's pardon power does not extend to State charges. He is limited to pardoning people for federal offenses. So yeah if the guy actually is convicted of anything he's going to do time in a state prison not in a federal facility. Objectively I think the really bad part about this is that it seems very likely to me that based on his history alone, this man has PTSD after his tour in Iraq as a machine gunner and another incident that I cannot recall in detail after he got out of the service. Ice obviously did not screen him adequately or they did but did not care that working in that job might harm him and others. That may have some effect in terms of diminishing his responsibility for what he did, although not removing it entirely typically.

@goaded That's an interesting read. some of of that I see now, some I see in prior govt. We've been deteriorating for a while, now we have a fascist savior? Fascism is a reaction to save the country from doom?
I'd need to better understand this issue historically.
Seems fascism itself is not the issue, it's that absolute power is absolute corrupting. Thus, balance of power. That be nice, but it's been failing since the 2008 collapse.

I'm guessing what every other country in the world called a reasonable public health response to a pandemic, and nothing that Washington and Woodrow Wilson (and local authorities) hadn't done.

i'm going to throw this out there because the shooting of renee good looked suspicious to me. to me it looked like a closed set and someone yelled action. and you get your fifteen broken minutes of footage. that might sound like conspiracy? but there was an upload last night of an ICE operation that looked absolutely bonkers! they weren't even hiding the fact that it was staged. so don't it's just liberals being fooled here.

As a civilian, no. As a law enforcement officer he has every right to attempt to impede an uncooperative suspect’s attempts to escape. It’s also reasonable to assume that most people WON’T try to run you over; especially as a LEO. So standing in front of the vehicle is not “placing himself in harm’s way” under the reasonable expectation clause.
She literally did everything wrong and caused her own untimely death. It’s tragic, but SHE is the one who put herself in harm’s way and now you’re trying to justify her reaction to run over LEOs in her own defense. Ridiculously hypocritical and frankly ignorant.

IIRC, Kirchner says the state prosecutors get to use the fact that the government refused to provide evidence in defiance of a court order against the accused.
