I wonder how intentional the timing of what’s going on in Iran is. It certainly puts trump in a challenging situation. On one hand there is an expectation on us to not let the situation get too far out of hand. But I don’t think ANYBODY wants America to install a new government there. The Middle East I’m guessing isn’t gonna want to trust it. From our perspective it’s too hard to control, we can’t exactly buy it like Argentina or Venezuela without disrupting a delicate power balance there and even if we could, from a liability standpoint not even trump is gonna want to be responsible for whatever happens there after.

But if we stay out for too long it makes his argument for Greenland weaker. Our currency is effectively backed by the security we provide to world trade.

Getting rid of the Iranian regime will cripple all of the other existing terrorist organizations that want to see an end to the US because a massive amount of their funding comes from Iran.

If the regime is toppled and not replaced with anything equally bad or worse, we should see the amount of Islamic terrorism from these organizations drop dramatically.
