Can't Trump go directly to the SCOTUS and ask for a ruling based on the Eighth Amendment for the New York penalty? The amendment seems tailor made for this.

Trying to understand what he will do about this 454 million penalty, from this deranged black AG. No lending bank on the planet will post a bond in that amount.

The general consensus is that this ruling will be overturned on appeal. The whole thing is based on election interference.. Everybody knows it. Trump says he will take it all the way to the supreme court but nobody thinks it will take that drastic of a solution.

The Supreme Court doesn't take up every case they're requested to, and this one hasn't gone through the appeals process yet in New York, although there clearly is a federal question.

It's a civil matter for cash. No one is going to jail or faces any potential jail time. The 8th and Supreme Courts have no jurisdiction.
