Yes. They are ancient and essential to the ecosystem. They are beautiful. There are lots of different kinds and many species aren't dangerous. Sharks harm few people. Stupid movies like Jaws created fear and hatred toward sharks. Whale sharks are cool and totally harmless. I saw one in the wild while fishing. Hammerheads are unique and fascinating.

I don't like or dislike sharks. I don't want to play with them but I respect their role in marine ecosystems. And they are an amazing case of evolution that has essentially halted for millions of years because they are so well fitted to their niche that they don't need to evolve. As for dinner, any predator at the top of the marine food chain is not a great choice for a meal. Bad stuff tends to concentrate in animals like sharks. And to tell the truth, the shark meat I've eaten didn't taste great.

not really. They are not good eating, they kill other species, they kill people and are only good for movies like Jaws. My friends and I used to catch sand sharks and sell them to the local lobsterman for 10 cents each. He used them for bait.

This leaves out other sea monsters that some people might like.

I've eaten shark steak a few times, but America is firmly going the shark route.
