Why there aren't many black people in Australia?

In anglosphere countries such as Canada and usa there are many but in australia there aren't many of them. What is the reason?

The Australian aborigines are black. The UK used to use Australia as a penal colony. That’s the main reason caucasians ended up there early in colonization. At the time, African slaves didn’t have the same rights and privileges as Europeans. So taking those things away wasn’t a form of punishment. They weren’t shipping naughty slaves to Australia. So the black population wasn’t artificially increasing in the same way.
Furthermore, Australia didn’t establish independence until long after the UK banned slavery. Therefore they were never in the slave trade per se.

Australian aborigines are Australian aborigines. That's it. They are not "Black" (sub-Saharan African) in the least.

"Black" implies of African descent; that's all. Darker people, such as Australian aborigines, are found everywhere else on Earth, but we don't call them "Black".

Absolutely, yes, but the variation in who we became occurred over time much of it outside of Africa. It would have to have occurred that way because of mutagenic forces found outside of Africa to cause that variation.

For instance, having paler skin is due to evolutionary pressure on people living further from the equator. The further from the equator you are, the less of a need for melanin to color skin and help prevent skin cancer from strong sunlight. At the same time, at those latitudes, there is more of a need for the skin to absorb sunlight for Vitamin D synthesis. Thus begat "White people".

In short, a few reasons:

1. The English didn't start a settlement in Australia until 1788. That first settlement was a boatload of convicts and their guards.

2. The Abolitionist Movement in England was already significant by 1788. By 1807, England outlawed slave trading. Then, they abolished slavery throughout the empire in 1833.

So, Australia grew after England had moved past slavery, so there'd be few, if any, Black persons as slaves there and, thus, few descendants of them.

Compare that to North America which was settled by the English 200 years earlier.

They killed most of the indigenous people and used indentured Irish prisoners for slave labor instead of importing people from Africa.

No slavery. The US only imported 600,000 slaves but they prosper compared to elsewhere that imported more.

I don't think that there was as many black slaves in Australia as in Canada and USA.
