I think this is one of those damned if you do, and damned if you don't situations. If it's really true that the Iranian government is slaughtering thousands of people, I think if Trump intervenes, he will be impeached, and if he doesn't intervene he will be impeached for that.

Wait until at least half the population is killed, then step in and topple the government too. They hate us. Many of their citizens have chanted Death to America before. F them.
Most of the world are our enemies, even many of the EU countries. They hate us. They just want to use us for our resources and aid. Remember when the USA has had large floods, or other disasters in the past? What countries helped us? None? Yep. F the whole world. Many of them are jealous because most countries are pathetic and have accomplished very little even though they have existed far longer than the USA.
"What countries helped us? None?" You are joking, right? The one and only time the NATO pact was invoked was after 9/11 and all the countries in NATO came to the aid of the US. Canada regularly sends firefighters to help in the US.
The CIA, MI6 and Mossad tried to start a color revolution by instigating riots. They are the ones who opened fire, killing many people (but nowhere near the 30,000 claimed). I'm sure Iranian police and military killed some, too, but that's to be expected when rioters and blowing shit up, setting fires, and attacking government forces. After all, MAGA in the U. S. are cheering the murder of anti-ICE protestors.
The U. S. used the same playbook in other countries, for example in Syria and Venezuela. It recruited, armed and trained insurgents, then tried to claim that there were popular uprisings in those countries.
Why should the U. S. attack Iran? Human rights? If so, then why don't we attack countries like Israel and Saudi Arabia? What did Iran ever do to the U. S?
It is Israel that wants the U. S. to attack Iran because Iran opposes Israeli policies. And, according to Zionist propaganda, that is akin to wanting to kill all Jews, forgetting that there are many Jews living happily in Iran. However, the only time Iran ever actually attacked Israel was when Israel attacked it first.
The U. S. should stop letting Israel dictate its foreign policy. In fact, the U. S. should stop arming and funding Israel. It's time for Israel to go the way of apartheid South Africa and its war criminals should be tried like Nazis.
My gut tells me we should stay out of it but I know Trump can't win this either way. I guess this is what happens when you set yourself up as the police of the world.
I think he's going to stay out. Right now the middle east thinks he's the best thing ever. He got all these countries whonhate each other to get along and make money together. They might even create the new infinate money glitch.
Iran is a situation where it kinda keeps Israel at bay and if trump touches that house of cards and it causes a chain of events that destabilizes the peace he created it's going to ruin the atmosphere of trust he created.
I'm sure a lot of rocks they hit on the road to unification kinda get smoothed over or ignored because they're happy not to be dealing with Israel or Iran. So maybe it's kinda necessary to have a "villain" there for power balance reasons.
Help and fix are very two different ideas coming out of a politician/businessman's mouth.
I think he genuinely wants to help so it seemed like good timing to swing the militarys dick around. But irans got china and Russia business and he doesn't want to give them the leverage they need to force him to choose Iran over say the Arctic (Greenland)
Yours is the best answer I've read yet. I once started a new job and my coworkers warned me about just doing the bare minimum to get by. I didn't believe them because I thought a strong worth it ethic would be rewarded. Boy was I wrong. There were people sleeping and playing games that were making the same amount as me busting my ass. Never again.

trump is the president of the USA. he's there to help nobody but the American people. and if there's no massive benefit in helping some country to the American people, he won't do it.
I actually think that Donald Trump should help the people of iran. But he should also use his power to get the theocracy out of power and enable the people to become Persians again
It will not be necessary to have a long land war in a ram to rescue the people. What we need to do, is cut off the head of the snake. And as soon as we do that the entire population will go home and take a break. It is going to be a bigger deal than venezuela. However, taking Iran out of the equation will liberate the entire middle east.
