Should the US once again intervene in Afghanistan?

Critics of Biden’s hasty withdrawal from this former alliance predicted this. So i expect responses to be fairly cleanly split along party lines here.

No.

The 9-11 attackers were in Afghanistan.

There is no similar situation where a group committed an act of war directly against us.

Their issues are their problem. Just don't start taking immugrants from backwards, war torn cultures.

We have to keep immigration numbers low and we have to vet peoole and take people that love America and assimilate and who want to join our culture. Not problem cultures who make separate societies and from fallen societies and at high numbers so that they form little separate communities and outposts from other backwards cultures.

Look Afghans knew what Taleban rule would mean yet there was little resistance against them when Western nations left.

Maybe air drop beer, bacon and hentai into the country to compromise the Taleban.

It’s not like we gave them a lot of notice to prepare for the inevitable onslaught. The US’s withdrawal was, by all accounts, rash and hasty. It’s also not as though they were winning that fight before we came along. We were there for good reason.

We are not the world police. We are already getting involved with too many other countries business as it is.

Also, we pulled out of Afghanistan hastily thanks to an agreement enacted by Trump before he left office. He signed an agreement that we would leave by May 2021 which puts us in Biden's administration. If Trump had beaten Biden, then it would have had the same result just under Trump instead.

We spent way too much money on that occupation anyway.

Nonsense. It’s not “hasty” if they had years to prepare for it. Which is your first clue that you’re perpetuating lies. The withdrawal from Afghanistan is 100% Biden’s move alone. Even if Drumpf had negotiated extraction, once Biden took office as Commander in Chief HIS choices alone are honored. That’s how US military chain of command works. Stop lying.

The agreement was signed in August 2020. Biden didn't take office til Jan 2021. That gave him roughly 4 of 5 months to have it done. Certainly not "years".
