Said like that, this "war" is nothing new, any sufficiently influential entity or institution utilizes propaganda. School made me study propaganda as a kid already, through analysis of various pieces, analysis ranging from advertisements selling coffee, detergent or pens to political posters of USA, USSR and 1933 Germany. While High School taught me how religions, companies, political parties and countries are all systematically pushing their ideals/doctrines/morals. Ultimately, school showed me that it has also its own agenda, it notably propagates nation's identity to transform kids into citizens of a specific country.

This is society as I know it, a maelström of propaganda coming from so many different sources. And it's a good thing, that "war" is a good thing to me.

Otherwise, when that "propaganda war" is silent, it is because some powerful enough institutions locked us out of any propaganda but its own. That would be North-Korea's case, or any other monochromatic space, like a cult or a theocracy

That said, I have to give props to the US machine, especially starting in the late 1940's when the Rockefeller's and Carnegies took over editing and publishing all the textbooks used in US schools. Then created generations of people who believed in a dream, were kept dumb with minimal education, yet thought they were among the world's elite and that the USA was the "best country in the world"!

This is no easy feat people, but they pulled it off. The result of this are evident today throughout the USA, but particularly the red states and in Trump supporters. If only they could understand George Carlin. Take a listen, and if this doesn't right true for you, consider yourself too far gone.
