So did June Lockhart and my neighbor's mother turned 101 2 years ago. My aunt made it to 3 weeks shy of her 100th but I'm SURE she would've made it well past that by a number of years had her stupid kids left her the fuck alone to live in her own house rather than forcing her to go into a home she didn't need to be in!!

More like a curse. You can't drive. You look like a raisin . You are slow. You put pressure on savings. You can't work. Vision is less. Hearing is less. Food is less enjoyable. Health issues. Most people you knew are all dead. No Friends left alive. The only plus would be knowledge from experience and history but only If your mind is still sound. Arthritis is not good either.

Yes! My father died weeks short of his 99th birthday. The next year, we celebrated his 100th birthday anyway.

Just think of how the world has changed in the past 100 years, and how a centenarian has seen so many different things.

When I was a kid I was told the average lifetime is 70, everything passed that is a bonus. So, yes. Not sure what kind of lottery you have to win to get to that age, but I wouldn't mind it.

No, I think it's mostly down to luck and avoiding all human vices. I don't aspire to live to 100, I want to die while I'm still enjoying life.

Probably not. My aunt died at 95 and the last couple times I talked to her she said "Dammit, I woke up again this morning!".
