With all the social media we've got these days, why is everyone so anti-social?

Before we had cell phones, home computers and 500 channels of shit to pick from on t. v., there were always kids outside playing, riding bikes, hanging out together, etc... People would sit on their porch or take a walk and chat with their neighbor for a while, get together and play cards, go places together.
Today, everyone's too busy staring at their phone, playing video games and the only people they talk to are thousands of miles away on their own phone.

Because social media let's us see into the souls of others. People generally keep their biases hidden out of politeness and a need to be accepted by society. The anonymous nature of social media has enabled people to express unsavoury views and shows they aren't just views of a tiny minority.

So this has led many in the real world to question what's really in the hearts of their neighbours and work colleagues. We deal with this fear by distancing ourselves from the unseen danger.
