I would say so, they still made it themselves via gambling. Obviously they were just lucky but if they decided not to gamble they wouldn't have it. Therefore a choice was made by them which made them rich.
It wasn't something that they had no choice in unlike being born into rich.
And gambling can be counted as skill sometimes like in Poker though this isn't the case the principle of making a choice still exists.

No a big part of the self made is experience from failure, getting a ticket that make you possible decades of lifetime earnings isn't a self made millionaire, it's a fast made millionaire, self made takes dedication, patience and investment of time and more than likely money as well, it requires strategy, smart spending and and specific lessons you only learn from doing things, then you earn the title of self made.

Does it really matter? It spends the same. I'm not a millionaire, I'm a half millionare.😆 But I still buy a lottery ticket 4 times a week. Why? Because I hedge my bets. I'm going to be a millionaire within 6 years (at current rate). But if I get there a little sooner via the lottery thsn👍.

Just remember a windfall of money doesn't erase flaws. It only exposes them. If you're not a good human being without a million, you won't be a good human being with it.
