Like anywhere else, your quality of life is what you make it. In some places it's more difficult than others, but you still have to make the best of what you've got.

The US is certainly better than most places to do that, maybe all. The sky is the limit. The standard of living has been steadily increasing my entire life.

There is a reason why there are over 50 million foreign born people living in the US. It's at a record high as a percent of the total population. If it was as bad as some people make it out to be, those people wouldn't stay.
