Who will this benefit? Even if the Iranian government is thrown out, it will most likely just get replaced by another corrupt government.

It will be like Bush's Iraq war which hasn't benefited anyone. I can see Inflation rising and America's reputation sinking even lower ( if that's possible).

it's a dumb war that will accomplish nothing of significance. even if we destroy iran's nukes they'll start building them again. if we take out one hardline leader (the ayatollah) another hardliner will be put in his place.

all that will be accomplished is the loss of life, destruction of homes, cities, etc, and a further wedge driven between the "west" and the arab world

Well, okay, I think American participation in World War II was a good idea. It was a very unfortunate war, but in the context of Hitler and the Japanese, I think it was necessary. If America had not participated, I think they would have had Hitler on the East Coast eventually and the Japanese on the West Coast eventually. That would have been troublesome at the least.

It is reckless and dangerous as hell, in addition to being stupid. It is costing a fortune, literally, and it is risking the lives of American service people who do not deserve this kind of exposure. It is also killing Iranians, who also do not deserve that kind of treatment. They have done nothing to us.

This is another war about oil. When we finally run out of this stuff, and eventually we will, people will calm down a little bit - hopefully.
