How common is it to deposit $5,000 or more in cash into your bank?

This is in reference to the Epstein security guard... I'm wondering how common this would be. For me it's never.

Probably fairly common. Adjusted for inflation, I used to do it at least monthly, and sometimes weekly, or even more often. There is a huge cash economy out there, mostly under the table, but also for above the table reasons.

Residential construction is often paid under the table for example. I'd guess that the majority of houses in the US have at least some of the labor paid in cash. But there are tons of reasons why people would deposit / withdraw that much cash.

Ask the teller at the bank how common it is.

It’s normal if you work at a business and get paid cash. $100,000 would be weird. But if business owner gets $5,000 in cash each month, there is nothing suspicious about that. That is probably what the managers at K Mart make, divided among all of them.
