What's she's "shocked" by is her own inability to realize something: The Republicans deliberately turned their political platform into identity politics to an irreversible degree. What and who you voted for became ALL of what and who you are, by design, because the points of focus became opposites.

I understand not wanting to discuss who you voted for because that's a private choice, but she doesn't understand how her choice has affected the world at large. Around the world, Trump is an anathema. Polling of other countries show that only 50% of those polled around the world view the USA as "still ok", but only 30% view Trump as good.

Why is 30% a significant number? Here's why:

* 30% of a population will always pick one side and die on that hill, no matter what
* 30% of a population will always pick the other side and die on that hill, no matter what
* 30% of a population will claim they'll decide based on the current issues
* 10% of a population just doesn't care

What that tells me is this: the only people still supporting Trump are the same 30% who will pick a side and die for it, no matter what it represents.

I'll make a prediction. In the upcoming months, Trump's dementia and his unwillingness to accept it, will cause him to say some very self-incriminating things publicly, specifically about the Epstein files, because he's obsessed with the fact it won't go away. Not even a war is making it go away.

He'll practically confess to what he did in a few words, and he'll get yanked off the microphone by his staff. After it's obvious to everyone what he said, the maga's and the WH will finally admit there is a "little dementia" and the stress of the fake news pushing the files has caused the President to be "a little confused". Maga will then blame the left, and the media, for causing his stress and say that his words prove nothing, he's just tired of the endless, baseless accusations.
