With Google Maps, is the 'men don’t ask for directions' joke outdated?

With google maps, this seems to be an outdated concept that I have heard of. Doesn't everybody use Google Maps or an equivalent these days? If so, , I would say this joke didn't age well. What do you think?

I mean same with those that use other directions based apps also people who’ve been using a form of GPS for decades that tell you where to go.
Also like any good stereotype, there are exceptions and misconceptions same with “women aren’t as good drivers as men” and the jokes oriented around that hurtful outdated joke.

I have always been a lover of maps. So yes I do use Apple Maps quite often while traveling. What is also cool is that in today's world, it even shows traffic!

So is the joke outdated? I don't know. I wonder what percentage of men don't want to use smart phone navigation? 😂

Nope because guys still have a hard time asking for directions. Shit most guys under 40 can't read a fucking map

A couple of weeks ago, Google Maps sent me to a completely erroneous location. More importantly, I actually know the neighbourhood quite well. It was just one of those occasions where you have complete confidence in technology and it fails miserably.

I don't know enough places to need to ask for directions, usually.

But I don't think I would ask a random stranger for directions, in any case. I'd be too afraid of them deliberately giving me wrong directions for their own amusement.
