DOGE promised to find $2billion in waste and balance the budget.
We were going to pay zero income tax because tariffs would pay for everything.
Gas and home electric bills would be cut in half.
And there would be no new wars.

Will do taxes soon and see how it looks. Reality though, it's all 💩 without a huge productivity boost and manufacturing center returned. With recent wars, it's meaningless even if we get it... inflation... we will be paying for it all.

If you've ever unclogged a messy toilet or cleaned out a cow barn, that's what we have... and it's backed up by 40 trillion gallons. There's an old story about cleaning out a barn. Because Trump is a flim flam man whose campaign campaign promises went out the door, except for deporting illegal aliens. He bragged about how many wars he stopped, and then started our present situation. What a flunkie!

In all honesty, the zero income tax is be the hardest thing Trump will ever have to do. Harder than dealing with commie district judges who have no sense of self preservation for the very nation they live in.

Federal income tax is the 16th amendment and I think the only way to get rid of an amendment is to make another one to patch it, like we did for the nationwide ban on alcohol. No one in Congress will ever agree to this and the amount of members we need to vote for its abolishment is insane.

You might be waiting a while for that. More US born Americans are retiring than entering the workforce and legal tax paying immigrants are leaving in droves eroding the tax base further. Which means taxes are going up, way up. by the way, wars are expensive so Trump has to raise your taxes to pay for that too and bombing oil rich countries might raise your home heating costs. It almost seems like there was no actual plan.

I don't think Trump ever promised zero income tax. He has mentioned a possible future day when the federal government services on tariffs and fees alone, as it did before a federal income tax was instituted by the 19th amendment in 1913.

The Big Beautiful Bill does take a step toward reducing income taxes by not taxing overtime and by reducing the tax on Social Security earnings and providing a $6000 (couple) and $3000 (single) deduction for seniors.
