Who is winning the war?

The Democrats. Iran isn't winning because all their stuff is getting blown up. The US isn't winning because the price of gas is only making the economy and the markets worse not to mention the effectiveness of the Iranian hackers. Trump lying about not starting wars was a gift to the Democrats because this war has quagmire written all over it with no defined mission and no exit strategy. Look for commercials of Trump saying he won't start any wars to dominate the airwaves this summer.

Virtually no commerce, including oil is moving through the straights of Hormuz now because the Iranians have shut it down. I'm not sure if you can fully appreciate the power of that weapon and how difficult and probably impossible it is to counter but as the days go by, you will find out the full meaning of this as well. The rest of us. The Iranians have a very civilization and have been in many, many wars and they know how to conduct them in the most effective way. Now. All the shiny equipment that we paid for for our military is of no avail now.

A total of 2,709,918 Americans served in Vietnam. To defeat Iran would require an invasion of at least that many and would require a draft that would be opposed most Americans. The president and congress are under the control of Israel but they are unwilling to obey Israel when it guarantees they will be voted out of office.

It's not about a few Iranian leaders that have been killed. It is about how many barrels of oil have not transited the straits of Hormuz since this started. I don't think you're seeing it quite like I am, but I see it as a war that involves the global oil industry and in that war the United States is losing.

Everyone who is tied to the Iranian oil production will suffer from this. This includes us (I don't know why, they fucking hate us), China and Russia. Now Russia and China will have their plans to invade their respective targets hindered if not halted completely.

Everyone who has to move oil from Iran through the Hormuz Straits is going to suffer from this because you can't move oil that way anymore. That is about 20% of the world's oil supply we're talking about.

I don't know all the details but this seems like a desperation move on Iran's part. Taking advantage of everyone's reliance on their oil against us. I am not sure if this is "bending us to their will" this just seems like the deployment of international conflict tactics to me.

The oil has the necessity it has, and if people can't buy it at a reasonable price, there is going to be a lot more trouble before this is over.

True and I hope we do something about it. With all the bombings we've done, I am surprised we haven't struck the blockade at this point.

I think this has more to do with the geography than anything else. If you look at the map and if you've done some sailing at all, you'll know that that is a hell of a pinch point that is accessible to gun and missile fire from a long, long way away. That distance is all part of what makes up a large part of Iran, actually. The endpoints are all on their territory.
