I think you mean voting was fine until the liberals started protesting against very reasonable ID requirements. They are the ones who tried to screw it up. HR-22 was needed to counter that.
It was the commission headed by Democrat Jimmy Carter who recommended uniform voter ID as part of a comprehension list of things to make elections more fair and honest. The government has been trying to implement it ever since.
I've been voting almost 50 years, in several cities in three states. I have needed an ID every single time. When you have liberals doing crazy ass shit, you need to counter it. This wasn't about Trump losing. The debate has been going on since before he even ran the first time.
What do you mean it wasn't an idea until Trump? You are really 42 years old? Have you not been paying even the least bit of attention?
Did you read the part about Jimmy Carter's commission recommending uniform ID requirements? That was one of the main points of his findings. That was more than 10 years before Trump ran the first time. But you shouldn't even need to know about that commission to know this has been part of public debate long before Trump ran.
This: "When you have liberals doing crazy ass shit, you need to counter it" is a lie. Almost every instance of in-person voter fraud in recent elections has been by Republican voters or even lawmakers. Many of the low-info voters did it because they thought that was what the left was doing.
Oh, look: "The Trump administration is using a 20-year-old report to misrepresent former President Jimmy Carter's views on mail-in and absentee ballots as it pushes for federal legislation that would impose strict new proof-of-citizenship and photo ID requirements for voting ahead of the midterm elections." www.cbsnews.com/.../
www.documentcloud.org/.../
"Carter supported mail-in voting and absentee ballots, according to statements by the late president, his grandson Jason Carter and The Carter Center. The 2005 report stated that absentee and mail-in ballots can create opportunities for fraud, but also suggested ways to reduce that risk and recommended further research on the issue. Experts say there is no evidence that mail-in and absentee voting leads to widespread fraud, either now or 20 years ago."
""I urge political leaders across the country to take immediate steps to expand vote-by-mail and other measures to help protect the core of American democracy — the right of our citizens the vote," he said in May 2020 amid concerns about elections during the COVID-19 pandemic."
The entire reason you and all your ANTIFA pals were raised to hate Florida, is because Al Gore lost to George Bush in the 2000 presidential election in Florida. Democrats claimed was rigged with hanging chads. Before you guys claimed the Florida election was rigged, you guys never even talked about Florida. Your hatred brewed for decades. You generated mounds of anti-Florida propaganda day in and day out so much so that now "Florida Man" is a cultural icon. There have been major issues with voting all across the country for longer than you have been alive, but Democrats only care about it when they are the ones that lose. Every other American citizen just wants fare elections.
*it was
*fair
That's how your party operates. Rather than fix the election process so that all American citizens are represented at the polls fairly, you'd rather expend extraordinary amounts of resources to attack average American citizens in attempt to smear their reputations in a temper tantrum because you didn't get your way.
I heard Donald Trump also used to claim the Emmys was rigged since his show The Apprentice never won an Emmy.

what's crazy to me... that this one country has gone 200 years voting without the most basic... verification
you know, since I've also lived on this other country, in which this identification/verification is the most basic thing ever for pretty much anything, but specially when voting, lol
@goaded except... for the just above 1000 criminally convicted cases, in which... the same person voted multiple times
and these are just the criminally convicted, proven and trialed cases...
and before you ask, no...
these are all official and public records, so you can go and find them yourself... from the government sources
1,000? What a big number! Since when is that? Out of how many elections? How many cast votes?
I expect you mean this, from the people who brought us Project 2025 and now claim the US has "an immigration problem", dropping the pretense that they only cared about illegal immigration:
https://electionfraud.heritage.org/search
The answers are 1982, about 20 federal elections, and about 5 billion votes cast in presidential elections alone, maybe 8 billion if you include midterms. How many federal races were decided by fewer than a thousand votes in all that time, do you think?
You ate a higher proportion of rat shit in the last chocolate you had than there have been voter fraud of this kind. Are you going to stop eating chocolate? Even if all those proven cases of voter fraud had happened in one single election and not spread over decades, the results of 99% of elections would have had the same result.
Well, that totally defeats the fact that the amount voter fraud is about 50x LESS than the legal incidence of rat poo in chocolate in the US and nobody cares about that.
Even if all your 1000 proven cases of voter fraud had happened in one single election and not spread over decades and BILLIONS of individual votes, the results of 99% of elections would have had the same result.
It's not a serious problem, people telling you it is are lying, simple as that.
@goaded I never said it was a serious problem, I don't consider it a serious problem either
my point was, and still is... fraud is very possible and it does happen
and what you claimed as a prevention to fraud, does NOT prevent it, that's just a proven fact
and I'll tell you one more thing... even if voting enforces ID verification, that's still not going to fully prevent voter fraud, because there will be ways to go around it and cheat it too
which I also know from observations in countries like Mexico, in which voter fraud still exists, even with verified ID voting systems... lol
it does exist... but it's not a substantial problem either
"and what you claimed as a prevention to fraud, does NOT prevent it, that's just a proven fact"
Well, except for the fact that the people were convicted and punished while not changing the result of a single election. Preventing people from voting in the first place, which the SAVE Act would do, is in a whole different league.
OK, so do you think one in ten were caught? One in 100? Still not far off what the FDA allows of insect parts or rat poo in your food.
Basically, you're saying you don't care if people who are entitled to vote don't get to have their votes counted, as long as the tiny fraction of a percent of people who vote illegally (including many Republican lawmakers) are stopped.
This is also the argument against billionaires donating money to make voting safer in 2020; not that the people who got to vote weren't entitled to (they were), but that many of them were Democrats.
prohibition and verification are not the same thing...
see... Germany does it as well
you are NOT ENTITLED to vote... you become eligible for it
" Who is eligible to vote?
In Germany, your are eligible to vote if you
- have reached the age of 16 (to stand for election, however, the minimum age is still 18);
- hold German or another EU citizenship;
- are resident in Germany and have also resided in the EU for at least three months;
- are entered in the electoral register (for the EU citizen). "
Yes, I know Germany does, that's not the point. (Vote by mail is also possible, which doesn't need ID, and ID is available for free if you're really hard up). www.personalausweisportal.de/.../...dity-node.html
The point is that the existing systems in the US work 99.9999% of the time to avoid fraudulent voting, so an unfunded law that places burdens on millions of people who are entitled to vote to prevent perhaps dozens of fraudulent votes across the whole country is a bad idea. It's bad law.
If you want 100% ID for voting, fund it. Make it free to obtain, maybe grandfather in anyone who's already on the electoral register for at least the first few elections. There are lots of reasonable solutions to arrive at what Republicans claim is their aim, but they're not interested in that.
You can tell by:
* all the nonsense they're adding to the Bill
* all the lies they tell, like pretending immigrants are voting, that all you need is a driver's licence to register to vote, and so on.
To pass a good law, you don't have to lie about it.
this coming from you... the same guy who justifies passing a bad law... just because others did it too
now that's comedy
Hm. "What law are you referring to?" Or are you just going to keep implying stuff without backing it up?
For that matter, examples of me saying "but what about Trump doing worse" would help. Surely you're not suggesting the Democrats must be perfect before they can criticize the party whose leader is calling them enemies of the state?
Ignoring maybe a dozen fraudulent votes in elections of 150 million voters is categorically better for the country than denying hundreds of thousands of votes to eligible voters.
Democrats have offered compromises, like allowing wives to bring their marriage certificates as proof of their current name, or appropriate ID to be available free of charge to any voter who doesn't have one, but Republicans have rejected them. Why is that, do you think?
@goaded not the first time you say that...
then you come back to nag...
but then... Trump might pardon you
H. R.22 is an amended act from the original H. R.2 act from 4\28\1993. I’m guessing voting in 1993 wasn’t fine either.
My source is from Congress. gov & your photo source is from Facebook & instagram & it’s a little different from the actual act.
Voting is going to be fun anyway & I’m sure more things are going to be amended.
Thank you.
It took time for Democrats to actually begin to hate America and work studiously to corrupt the voting system here. We have to carry firearms now because the probabilities of violent and gun related crime has far increased from what it was 25 30 40 years ago. Conditions change and you have to adapt to them.
Lol by
Voting was fine until all the unsolicited mail in ballots , early voting, late voting, voting machines, and we did not have 20 million illegal aliens. When I first started voting it was paper ballots on Election Day and we knew who won the next day.
yeah and isn't it funny that voting alway REQUIRED AN ID or other forms of notification until you DemonRats decides to bitch about it?
till then keep posting more Ls, is fun watching you make a fool of yourself everytime you log in on this site
no requiring ID means your are ALLOWED to vote. which doesn't for for democrats for the fact that they only way they win elections is by letting illegal outsiders vote for them thanks to all the ass kissing they've done in the past.
also a driver's license has always been more than enough for citizens to vote. where the fuck did you get all this birth certificate nonsense?
seriously dude, go smoke your meth somewhere else cause the more you talk the more retarded you become
work for*
in your dreams buddy. the only places you all get majority votes is in Cali, NY and all the other blue states that are populated by morons like you.
I think I remember you saying you are from Texas, in that case I dont know why you're a wasting your damn time in a red state. why dont your ass just move to a fucking blue state already so you can be around losers like you? maybe your life won't suck as it does now and your needs to troll and rant on this site will diminish.
"GOP are so scared theyre pushing for Poll Taxes"
yeah keep dreaming
voting was fine for 200 years?
weren't libtards like you bitching and complaining about women and minorities and trannies not getting the vote 200 years ago?
nowadays illegals, criminals, foreign nationals, dead people and eventually children will be able to vote too
Voting was fine until states deliberately ignored the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) of 1996 by allowing non-citizens to vote with the removal of ID requirements.
I don't think the SAVE act will do much unless it actually holds those who broke it accountable.

All you are telling me is that it is illegal for non-citzens to vote but these are the same people who are running "sanctuary cities" in defiance of immigration law. I don't trust those people to uphold any law that doesn't benefit them since they clearly don't care and will continue to not care until one of them gets sent to prison over it.
The real proof that this is simply voter suppression is that there's no funding for the states to implement it. Barely any time, either.
He still thinks the election was "rigged" What a looser.
They also never had a Hussein from Africa use a forged birth certificate to become US president, until Trump started squealing about it, imagine that!
If Republicans get creamed in November, which they will, Trump will only talk about how Republicans were cheated in elections. It was rigged.
I mean every hour, every new conference , every speech. I am going to puke. That is why after he becomes lame duck for real , I won't be watching him.
You sound big mad illegals will be prevented from voting.
@supercutebutt is this a user post against site rules? You’re so mad you outed yourself.
I guess it’s a user post against both of us since we are the same.
@supercutebutt no. That’s on you cupcake.
Cupcake?
@supercutebutt you snowflake.
Nobody has a problem showing ID, gentle doof. Conflate much?
@supercutebutt so then shut the fuck about it being racist.
Watch your language. I just got scolded by g@g for calling one of your fellow cultists ridiculous. They will ban you for using the f-word if I got dinged for ridiculous.
@supercutebutt lol, I don't care. so shut the fuck up about voter Id, if illegals aren't voting it's not a problem.
Find evidence that I have a problem with voter ID. You make up lies constantly. It’s why you have no friends in this world. 😞
@supercutebutt you found it necessary to enlighten my reply in a question about the save act with your stupidity
You are a failed human. 😞
@supercutebutt from you, that’s a compliment.
