3.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Are you a racist? Do you not think that Black people are just as capable of succeeding under the same standard as white people and Asians? Or are you saying that we have to continuously discriminate against other races like Asians because of racism done in the past towards black folk. In which case when does the racism stop? Presumably in another 160 usually would have to be racist towards blacks Latinos, and white people in order to make up for the racism towards Asians today. So when does the cycle of racism and for you why not just this our system Apple married instead of race that is actually against the 14th amendment you cannot discriminate based on race you have to have equal protection under the law affirmative action is literally unconstitutional

CNN is a right wing organization now? They’ve always been massively left-wing.
Also, affirmative action is is incredibly racist. It’s basically telling blacks that you guys are idiots. You’re never going to be a smart as white folks or Asians or Jews. And so we must discriminate against Asians and universities because they believe that Asians need to be discriminated against in favor of black folks. Why would an Asian guy/gal need to score 250 point minimum higher than a black student? It’s called having one standard with a merit based system. If you cannot meet that standard you not get in to school it’s not that hard. There are a bunch of whites that can’t meet that standard. There are a bunch of blacks and Latinos, and use that cannot meet that standard. They’re asses off to get him to university. He is affirmative action is racist and it actually puts the local app and the KKK right on the same page. There is no difference between the KKK neo Nazi ideology and the woke liberal affirmative action ideology. They are one in the same. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 the far right fake news brainwashes it's simps with the misinformation that CNN is of the left, but in real life they've been pretty solidly right wing for quite some time.
And the far right fake news also tells its simps that affirmative action is telling black people they are idiots, but in real life it is telling black people that our history of racism in the US has placed black people at an economic disadvantage, and so we ought to give black people slightly more consideration until things even out. - 10 mo
How the hell is CNN ever been right wing? I know they try to be in the center but their political allies are straight up left-wingers.
So that’s the argument that you’re gonna go with the historical racism argument. In which case we have no choice, but to be racist until the end of Time or until they complete destruction of the United States. What you were saying here is historical injustice must be matched with present day injustice. Which would mean say 30 years from now (and I’m making up a number here) we would need to discriminate against members of another race and say white people and Black people, and Latinos in order to make up for the historical injustice that is happening today.
Why not just have a merit based system? Or are you trying to make the equal outcome Argument which will never happen unless we are all forced to sit on our hands and do absolutely nothing except eat sleep and poop. You will never have equal outcome. The only country that in large part has made everyone equal as far as outcome goes is North Korea. Even there Kim Jong-un, and the entire Kim family are the only ones that are better than everybody else because they were looked at as gods. Do you look at the government has god? What’s wrong with having a merit based system, where everyone has the meet one standard, and everyone else that does not need that standard goes in figures out another way of making money and living. We have a credential crisis in this country what did not require a college degree in 1960 or even 1980 or 90 now requires a college education today. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 if you give equal time to a veteran financial advisor as you do to The Prince of Nigeria, there is no explanation other that using the platform to lend legitimatacy to The Prince of Nigeria that he would not have if you hadn't invited him onto your platform in the first place. CNN does this constantly, normalizing every hard right decision republicans ever make by cramming it into a bothsides framework. That's not even mentioning the Trump rally they pretended was a town hall. CNN is owned by the same people who own OANN, after all. And they loke being billionaires so here we are.
And no if you had read what I said you might have noticed that affirmative action need only be implemented until things even out. Whenever median incomes are statistically identical, the problem is solved, in my opinion. The far just doesn't want that to happen. Because they are racist. - 10 mo
And Fox News is owned by Disney and they go against Disney all the time are you saying Fox News is a left-wing news site and CNN is a right wing new site. I’m sure that’s not what you’re saying CNN undermines the United States at every possible turn from supporting Iran, who is a radical terrorist state. To metaphorically constantly giving a Joe Biden and Barack Obama prostate massages. They’re basically the news outlet for the Democrat party.. (yes Fox of is the news outlet the Republican party)
Also, you’re never going to have anything even out you’re always going to have disparities between individuals a way you can have everything even out is why embracing the idea of equal outcome which will never happen, it’s been 3 generations since the civil rights movement. Who grew up as a son of a sharecropper and fight his way into law school into Yale law and ended up on the Supreme Court no further to the Supreme Court Justice you guys hate Clarence Thomas he wrote the concurrence on the why affirmative action is racist. There is no equaling out the only way you could equal out. Everyone is by becoming North Korea. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 Fox News isn't owned by Disney, lol. Disney owns Fox's movie studio, but I can see how you Christian nationalists would think movies and news are the same thing 😅
- 10 mo
@OddBeMe yeah, it's pretty much an epidemic. I'm not wildly on board with YouTube videos for explanation but this one seems to do a decent job of describing the problem. But more generally I don't think the division in this country can be bridged. The right simply hates the idea of community involvement. Even some on the left hate it, too. However, this seems to be by design. The idea that no one should have any value beyond the amount of money they have is of extreme benefit to those who have a billion dollars. Of course they would want use their influence to get everyone on board with it.

I love how you call me a Christian nationalist when I’m agnostic. As far as Fox News goes fair. Disney does own a news company maybe ABC Or CBS. If anything I believe more in Shinto or Nords Mythology then Christianity, but I will say my values and ideas do come from Christianity given i live in the west WHICH Christian morals and Greek reasoning built
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 you want the same things christian nationalists want and sre willing to force people who dont want it to have it, so you are a Christian nationalist.
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 agnostic is pussy town for people who “don’t know”. If you don’t know you don’t believe. So you’re an atheist.
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 Christians don't go to church every Sunday. Many don't go at all. Anyway, Christian nationalism has nothing to with Christianity.
As an aside, the ideas that proof there is and proof there is not canceling each other out is not how it works. With that you can give literally anything you imagine a 50/50 chance of existence just by saying there is no proof it exists. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 the Christian Bible expressly forbids things like Christian nationalism. It is ant-christ-like to be a Christian nationalist. That doesn't stop people from doing it anyway. It also doesn't stop people from calling themselves Christian. You people are desperate to be the moral authority to the point where you are understanding of political violence to obtain it. If there is anything like proof that the Christian god doesn't exist it is that it has done nothing to reign you people in.
Also, the question of the existence of a god is actually two questions. If there is one, and if any religion has correctly guessed its nature. You can say the first question is 50/50 and I might say there is no way to dispute it. But if there is one then the possibilities are literally infinite and so the chances of any religion accurately guessing what it is and what it does is zero. Less, if possible, since every depiction of a god just happens to coincide with the idealized version of the people who came up with the guess. - 10 mo
Well, given that Christianity is the entire basis for resident civilization, and the driving of the entire world. I would say that it is very likely the Christian god exist and of course the Christian morality is the best. Unless you want to go with a communist the tyrannical government I would suggest following the Christian belief.
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 it isn't the basis for resident civilization. Did a Christian tell you it was? Lol.

@Stoner710 Ben Shapiro is a far right scammer, fully funded and trained through pragerU and the Wilks brothers (fracking billionaires who specifically want to deny that climate change migjt have anything to do with their business). He will say anything, true or false, to get you to not vote Democrat. That is his only job. It's easy to be convincing when you have no qualms about lying.
www.vice.com/.../fracking-farris-dan-wilks-prageru-climate-crisis-denial-shapiro - 10 mo
Shapiro and Prager are not scams they believe what they say. (Why are far right) Shapiro never lies neither does Prager Shapiro will get things wrong from time to time but he corrects it when he does. He’s open about being Right Wing he doesn’t deny it unlike those at CNN which just spouts Leftist talking point and claim to be objective. I have more respect for MSNBC because they admit there left wing CNN is just trash
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 left of center. But that article, while sloppily written, was pretty neutral.
- 10 mo
Fair hence why I tire to make the distinction between liberals and the left I know in most of my opinion I’m far right but I don’t share all views of the far right like legal weed isn’t a far right position. Same with shrooms. i think conservation of wildlife in a bipartisan thing but I don't know. I won’t kill what I'm not willing to eat like when I kill a deer I use all of it (except the blood im not English blood pudding is nasty)
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 you say that but I'm convinced if the Kochs or the Wilks paid Shapiro to come up with an anti-weed narrative, he would eventually get to you. It is his job, after all, and he is apparently very good at it.
- 10 mo
No Ben owns his own company most of his other podcasters don’t like weed he’s grown to be against weed. Just because I listen to him doesn’t mean I agree on everything he says. When it comes to morality and the law I agree with him. Like I disagree with him about Zelenskyy. I can’t stand Zelenskyy. I don’t like liars to begin with and yes Trump lies constantly (especially about crowd size and this recent one where he admitted to taking classified documents). But Zelenskyy’s like it up lead to World War III. There’s a massive difference between Trump’s lies are annoying and Zelenskyy’s lies could have led to nuclear annihilation. Hence why I’m not supporting Trump in the primaries. I will not vote for Biden. And yes I was willing to vote Democratic in 2020 but the guy I liked didn’t win which was Yang
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 but Shapiro lies constantly and you listen to him. Anyway, no, Trumps lies would lead to WWIII if anyone's would. Or rather, Trumps lies would lead to the nazis and Christian nationalists taking over peacefully, circumventing the whole "war" thing and just handing the victory to the bad guys, which is when the unchecked mass murder starts - people like you would just approve of the murder (until they came for you) so in the absence of an organized defense against it, you get to say its not a war. World war three is a valid last resort if we can't get Christian nationalists to back off any other way.
And I'm not aware of zelensky lying much beyond speculation on how bad things can get if no one helps put a stop to Russia. One imagines he would like to put an end to his citizens being raped, tortured, and murdered by a greedy shithole country as soon as possible, and if few imbellishments somehow accomplish that, fine.
Also, I'd put real money on a bet that if Yang ever actually won the Democrat nomination Shapiro would have you hating him worse than Biden within a week. He is, indeed, very good at his job. - 10 mo
Shapiro is coming from a conservative perspective. You may think he’s lying based on your view points but he’s not lying based on his view points. The gap between right and left is like the gab between the earth and the edge of the universes (no I’m not exaggerating)
Trumps lies would not have lead up to WW3 he lies a lot which is a pain but his lies wouldn’t have started WW3.
The Russia thing might be true but that’s speculation. Maybe the best solution is both Vladimir’s end up in prison or dead. I can’t stand either one of them.
Yang no Ben and Yang are friendly. Yang appeared on Ben Shapiro Sunday special. He disagrees with Yang politically but he likes Yang as a person. Ben Shapiro was actually rooting for him to become mayor of New York City. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 he knows he's lying. No one can get things that precisely wrong without a great deal of effort avoiding what they know to be true.
You apparently didn't finish reading the thing about ww3. I already addressed that concern.
I'm sure the two are very friendly because Yang could only possibly serve as a way to siphon votes from Biden, and shapiro is fully on board with that idea. If he was ever the actual democratic nominee, there would be a rapid falling out. - 10 mo
I did finish reading the WW3 part Christian’s don’t want war they don’t murder. Also Christian nationalist can’t back off the entire west is built on Christian nationalism there only 2 other form of government that’s been tried in the west since the beginning of the 20th century and that nazism and communism. Christian hates Nazis and communists, Communists actively kill Christian’s. From 1950 west germany to the United States there very Christian countries. There not many options that’s not the total collapse of the west and basically going back to the Stone Age.
Trump would never have caused ww3 both him and Biden are likely to cause civil war 2 in the United States since left and right are so different the chasm between left and right is enormous. Half the country is on the left half the country is on the right. 2024 might be the last election. We can’t survive if Biden gets elected we will be economically bankrupt and Xing jing ping will attack Taiwan which the United States is obliged through treaty to defend. Putin will likely invade other Eastern European countries like Georgia. And Iran is likely going to build a nuclear bomb and laugh it against Israel
As far as Ben hating Yang he wouldn’t hate Yang he would disagree with him. Ben doesn’t hate Joe Biden he thinks he’s a doddering old fool who is going to bankrupt answer about morally and financially but he doesn’t hate joe Biden - 10 mo
@Stoner710 I stopped reading at "Christians don't murde" AHAHAHAHA🤣 OMG
- 10 mo
K, done laughing. Because I can't assume common knowledge is known to you, and indeed there are a few hints that it isn't, let me be perfectly clear because this has apparently been an important lie shapiro put in your head: the way Christianity spread and became dominant was not by their principles but by their violence. Do you just not know what the dark ages were? The crusades? I'll assume you at least heard of them. That was christian nationalists killing off other religions for dominance, not because of holy reasons.
Christianity and indeed religion in general has been a thorn in the side of civilization, holding it back, at least since the industrial revolution. Indeed, it started at the beginning: the mayflower compact was an agreement between puritans and normal people basically to leave each other alone. After a months-long journey on a boat with Christian nationalists, the rest of the colonists knew right away things were not going to go well unless they put 'you stay on your side of the fence' in writing and got the puritans to sign on.
- 10 mo
Civilization is marked by, as one might guess, civility. If Christianity made people nicer you might have a leg to stand on but it doesn't. Instead it makes people non-hypothetical bullies in defense of hypothetical victims. You people take some random example that may not even be real but it doesn't matter because it >could< happen as long as there is no law against it, and shove it everyone's face insisting that they feel so bad about the one microproblem you made up that they should ignore the giant mountain of very real problems you bring with you. There is no extreme harm you can do and not come out thinking you're the victim. That's my definition of evil. The reason why it seems to you that the left and the right are so far apart is because, actually, the right is so far from everyone else. There aren't really any moderate right wingers anymore. You're either cool with putting drag queens in prison (or whatever you're wanting) or you must be far left. And despite the harm this causes to not just those drag queens but also the rule of law, you believe you're the victim of the left moving further. That extreme position of not putting them in prison (or whatever you're wanting) has not changed. That was the original position for everyone. You introduced the idea of doing something about a thing no one had a problem with. You created a mirror image of an extremity and got outraged about it. No one else did that. You people did it.
- 10 mo
When did I ever say that drag queens to be in prison?
As far as the hole religion thing, yes our morals and values come from Judaism and Christianity this is a long standing tradition dating back thousands of years. There were many cultures that did think murder was wrong (Nordic culture for example if you thought someone wife was hot and you wanted her for your self you could kill the husband and the wife would be force to marry you). The Roman’s embraced Christianity and put a stop the that Nordic tradition. by the way that tradition was wide spread though out European tribes. In the east child and other eastern religions child sacrifice was very, very common if you remember in the Iliad king, Agamemnon sacrifice his daughter to Poseidon in order to give him and safe travels across the sea to take over Troy. In the Aztec world child sacrifice was very common until the Spanish conquistadors came and kick their asses and that’s when child sacrifice stopped. Theft and rape were quite common as well prior to Christianity taking over most of the world. Christianity is the only reason why we no longer have traditions of child sacrifice. Great Britain and her descendants don’t tend to rape and/or murder prisoners. It’s a rare occurrence. Why that because of the Christian traditions that the British and her descendants countries (Australia, and New Zealand the United States, Canada.). You believe what you believe because of Christianity modern atheists believe in a Christian moral structure. Go study other religions from ancient times, and tell me I’m wrong. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 hence why I said "or whatever you're wanting." I don't actually know what drastic measures you're working yourselves up to taking to stop drag people from reading to kids or whatever.
And no. My morals come from my basic ability to imagine the suffering of those that I might bring harm to. Nothing further. Indeed, what religion does is put a crutch in place of this basic sentient function so that you become hobbled and eventually can't access it at all - basically the definition of a sociopath. That's why christians do so much rape, and burning people at the stak, e and lynchings, and stockades, and the endless array of torture devices christians came up with to be cruel to people..
And whoever told you christians don't do this lied to you. It's not even a very clever lie, at that. Christianity and christian dominance is defined and made possible by its cruelty, not the power of its message and certainly not its ARG morals. - 10 mo
I think it’s inappropriate for guys to dress up as women in front of children. I don’t know how that’s hard to figure out. If guys want to dress up as women and go to a drag bar I have no issue with that. They’re a difference when kids are involved. Adults are adults kids are kids.
Your morals comes from a Christian society. The very idea of don’t murder don’t steal don’t commit adultery comes from the 10 commandments. There is no other religious structure on earth that teaches people not do murder steal or commit adultery.
It’s called studying history. Yes the Spanish and French murdered raped etc they were known as Catholics. It wasn’t until the protestant reformation that Christian’s stopped raping and killing prisoners Catholic back in the day were no better then Muslims are now
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 Fine. But what would do you want done about it is the question.
My morals come from exactly what I said they come from: my ability to imagine the suffering of others if I cause them pain. Nothing more nothing less. Everyone has that, normally. Religions simply codified it and Christianity wasn't the first with the ten commandments. I don't know who told you that whopper about no other religious structure on earth teaching people not to murder, steal, or commit adultery, but in real life every one I've ever heard of does. Indeed, before 'jihad' became a thing, Islam was famous for cutting people's hands off if they stole. There was a time when this was common knowledge but now with right wing misinformation telling the most incredible lies imaginable, you people will believe any fake version of history that keeps you voting for republicans, I guess.
And the raping and killing is ongoing in the Christian faith. They are still no better than Muslims. The one advantage Christians have is technology of the western world, which was mostly provided to them by agnostics. Other than you just saying it to be true, in the real world there is no evidence that Christianity makes people nicer. - 10 mo
First of the 10 Commandments comes from Judaism and Christianity. We’re also in completing a more modern religion with ancient ones Islam and Christianity are fairly new in the grand scheme of religion.
You can say your morals comes from imagining the suffering of others, the Marquis de Sade of the same thing, except he enjoyed it. The Marketa side is actually why I will never actually be an atheist. Not all atheists are like him but he’s the one that makes the most sense, you’re taking the same approach and coming up with opposite conclusions. - 10 mo
@Stoner710 And Judaism got most of them from some polytheistic religion.
Yeah, it makes sense that some would enjoy it. That's generally called a psychopath. I'm not one of them, though. It's expected for a social species to develop ways to not hurt and kill each other and a natural inclination to imagining suffering in others as a bad thing is one of those way.
However, it seems quite worth noting that christianity notoriously does exactly what you call the "marketa side". That's what Hell is all about - retribution, imagining the suffering of people you make out to be enemies, burning witches, iron maidens... all of that is psycho. By hobbling your natural inclinations to just not hurt others religion has made you rely on their unnatural teachings so they can thus offer exceptions whenever it serves the interests of your leaders portfolios or whatever. - 10 mo
yea that's was primarily the Spanish and french as far as burning which's. the puritans did Hang, which is, but that was an extreme form of Christianity. all modern christians believe that was wrong. but the base hasn't changed.
And yeah, the Marquis de Sade is literally where we get the term sadism from - 10 mo
@Stoner710 interesting to know but I wonder how little control you believe you have over your own mind if you think there is a real chance you would follow in his footsteps unwillingly. I remember in 4th grade I was terrified I would run up to the teacher and try to have sex with her without ever giving my body permission to do so. I wonder if that fear is an actual disorder or something,
- 10 mo
@normalice I require more info on that last part involving your teacher, please.
- 10 mo
I think there a real chance that humans would largely follow in the Marquis de Sade’s footsteps of Christianity wasn’t a counteracting factor. Or we would continuously have human sacrifice and child sacrifice or we just be running around like barbarians in our own tribes, and not having the benefits of the world that Christians built today.
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 I didn't, so I don't think they would. Indeed, as I keep saying, people who call themselves Christians are more cruel than any nonbeliever I've ever met.
- 10 mo
@Stoner710 I've met people of nearly every religion. And I've found the religion doesn't matter. There are those in every religion that use the presumed inherent moral authority to excuse their own rotten behavior. This is why relying on a religion for moral guidance is a bad idea. Just hold to your own natural empathy and you'll be a better person that nearly all religious people who need to be threatened with eternal damnation to stop themselves from raping women or whatever.

@Juxtapose no actually. It’s quite different. I don’t know who’s got it worse, thats apples and oranges.
But simply googling shit will give you access to research that says “black sounding names” alone on applications gets them dismissed twice as much. But you’d have to do the homework and not just go with “feel facts”. - 10 mo

I’m saying that people have equal opportunities in this country. You’re the one saying black people are too stupid to get into UNC without getting preferential treatment.

Tall people get preferential treatment, sexy people get preferential treatment, people with a firm handshake get preferential treatment, people without disabilities get preferential treatment.. etc etc.
You are never going to change this. Introducing artificial bigotry to attempt to counteract it is not going to help. You are making a more racist and bigoted society by doing that. - 10 mo

I am not racist Odd nor do I have racist thoughts, don't project onto me.
It does seem weird that your world views seems to think that black people are the only one who suffer any discrimination. Have you ever been a father playing in a playground with your child and were looked at with suspicion? Plenty of men go through that and it's not fair. Are you going to discriminate against women because of that?
Female pornstars get paid more, what are you going to do about that?
You could argue black rappers are favored and basketball favors black people because they tend to be taller.. whatcha gonna do?
If it's not something supporting the narrative that anyone with pale skin is a devil and anyone with brown skin is an innocent angel, then it's not really worth considering for you is it? - 10 mo
@OddBeMe I’m still waiting for some logical thought out of your smooth brain. you’re claiming that people with “black names” (which in itself is a racist stereotype) don’t get accepted to college, but people with Asian names, chinese names, japanese names, Indian names, white names, etc are not. All by a liberal education system- -hm…maybe you guys are racist. And the solution to this is to discriminate by passing over better qualified students for lesser qualified black kids.
