It's easy to think so, but I don't believe that. Trump's masters found it convenient to deflect to that, or Iran being a threat, and all of that bunk. It's also a great distraction from the Epstein files, but the real reason in my opinion is to protect the petrodollar.

Historically, every time a country threatens or suggests the oil standard be changed from the dollar, the USA attacks it or removes the administration. Iran back in 1953, Allende in 1973, Hussein in Irag, Ghadafi in Libya, now Iran again. Sacrificing US soldiers under the guise of a national threat is not a big deal for these folks, so long as the petrodollar stays in place. There's just too much at stake to lose that.
