What is it really like to work as a security officer?

Unpredictable hours.
Lack of respect by civilians.
Lousy pay scale.
Lots of walking.

But if you do work outside, you see some interesting stuff. I had more than one instance of seeing couples practicing procreation in their car. One girl was smoking the pink cucumber. She didn't see me coming. But I saw the guy coming.

It depends on whether you're armed or not, your contract, the customer, and your hours. I used to be a security guard at the probation office many years ago and I was basically the sheriff's deputies' watch dog. I just signed people in and out of the building and did an occasional perimeter check. Wasn't much to it.

It depends, where you work, what type of security, what country. I started as a security officer while in college, worked my way up to running security at two fortune 500 companies headquarters. I'm not in facility management.

I think it depends what place you are working for cause a club vs a community complex I'm sure are 2 different things lol
