Should a 12-year-old accused of sexual assault be held in adult jail?

I apologize if the link doesn’t work. A 12 year old and friends accused of sexual assault. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very horrific they did and need to be sent away for a long time. Judge denied bond which I understand. But keeping him in adult jail?

Laws can be just weird...

there is, well.. there was this Texan kid, who went across to Mexico, joined the cartels

did torture, kill, decapitated... even ate plenty of victims, bragged about it on the internet.. all of that from ages 9 to 12, approx...

he was jailed as a teenager in Mexico, now... the moment he turned 18, according to Mexican law, he had to be released and then deported back to Texas

Texas decided not to charge him of any crime, instead gave him full freedom to just do whatever he wanted for the rest of his life, and he's still in Texas, today... doing, I don't know what... this is of course, a very extreme case but it is also a common thing when it comes to other types of crimes

American citizens join the cartels, cross over to the Mexican side then do their drugs, murders, rape, torture, kidnapping... and technically... they are not guilty of any of that on the USA side, especially not... when they were minors

also, by American law, they're "technically not dangerous" as they didn't commit any crime in the USA and there's also no records of it... lol

except for those, of course... who get caught on the American side while actively committing such crimes but even then... there are ways to eliminate those from your record later in life, if you were a minor at the time

Yes I would agree with that. If your old enough to commit an adult crime the adult treatment is fair for you. Somehow I also think "parents" who would be reliable are non existent with this boy.

No. I do believe he should be punished if he committed a crime but by definition he is not an adult so he shouldn’t be sent to an adult prison in my opinion.
