Where are the parents? It is the parents tht need to be regulated. If this happens in your house by your minor child it is a parent that needs to be punished.

People use "chances of getting hit by lightning" as a saying that means the chances are so small that it might as well not exist.

Wanna guess what is most likely?
A) A child killing another child?

Fair enough, maybe I was caught out by the qualifiers. Maybe. Did you know I'm the tallest person with my name in all of Germany? Also the shortest.

You said "hit", not "killed" in C, and the use of "another" in A helps you, because over 50 children shot themselves to death in 2025. That's way more than children hit by lightning. "Only" 13 children under 12 were shot to death by another child in 2025.

I'm not sure it helps you enough, though.

How many lightning strikes hit children under 12? It would have to be about 20% or more, because "In 2023, there were a total of 14 fatalities and 56 injuries reported due to lighting in the United States. In the previous year, there were 19 deaths and 53 injuries reported due to lightning nationwide." www.statista.com/.../

There were 18 school shootings in 2025 that resulted in injuries or deaths. 4 students were killed, 3 adults. In all, 51 people were killed or injured in a school shooting.

In the same year 250 children under 12 were killed by guns (plus over a thousand 12-17 year olds). (547 and 3,239 injured.)

Here's two really important things: those children shouldn't have been anywhere near the guns that killed them and it was people chose to put them in that situation.

I'm not OK with selling guns to anyone who doesn't have a good reason to have one, and "I'm scared of all the people around me with guns" shouldn't be a good reason. However, the rules should be the same for everyone.
