Not exactly but yes Putin lost huge value so despite winning land he is the bigger loser. Same: in iran we 'lost' jets but didn't lose battle but iran was the bigger loser.

I say in war nobody wins but one side surrendered (Arab-Israel wars) or one side lost more.
