Does anyone else feel utterly jaded and hopeless about the 2020s?

I was 15-25 during the 2010’s decade so it was always going to be a special decade to me but I really miss everything about it. I miss the music. I miss everything. Pre-Epstein, pre-Covid. The 2020’s had been awful. During the 2010’s leftists and liberals online were annoying but in the 2020’s right wingers are way more annoying than leftists ever were. I constantly see racism and sexism and transphobia and homophobia. I constantly see people screeching about stuff being “woke” in the 2010’s I felt so happy, I felt like LGBT people were finally accepted. I was honestly surprised it happened so soon. But the backlash in the 2020’s has been horrible. Roe v Wade was overturned, now they don’t even pretend to care about weeks anymore it’s just illegal outright. Gay marriage will be overturned any year now and I’ll be surprised if my existence isn’t illegal by 2030. Russia started a war in 2022 and it was bad but it exposed America and the West as being hypocrites when Israel started a war. What’s happening in Gaza isn’t really even a war, when you destroy an entire country’s infrastructure and kill hundreds of thousands of people while only losing a few thousand that’s not a war it’s a genocide. Now we’re bombing Iran out of the blue. Nobody in the files will ever see justice except maybe in the UK. Private equity has bought up everything, nothing is affordable, and they’re trying to charge us a million monthly subscriptions just to live. And instead of caring about the billionaires making life impossible for us most people seem to think Mexicans and trans people are their biggest threat. I can’t be the only one sick of everything. The 2020’s is awful. I can’t be the only one who hates it so much.

Personally I don’t feel jaded, I’m happy Trump is president again despite yhe fact that I’m politically fluid, meaning that when someone disagree with my political takes I identify as a leftist and must assume they disagree with me because I’m a leftist but any other time I identify as Right leaning.

I don’t think Right wingers are particularly annoying.

I do see some racism and sexism, and could probably find transphobia and homophobia if I went looking, all from leftists.

LGBT people are accepted, people just don’t want them to indoctrinate kids.

I don’t expect homo marriage to get overturned anytime soon, and I don’t think existing will be made illegal.

you mentioned someone trying to charge us a million monthly subscriptions just to live. If you are talking about rent and taxes, are you sure you can’t find a more affordable apartment? If you mean something other than rent and taxes I dunno who is trying to scam a million from you every month. You should cut off that ridiculous subscription if possible.

I think unhinged Democrat voters are a bigger threat than Mexicans and people confused about their gender.

Honestly not much has changed. Well it has but for the better. You’ve allowed yourself to be controlled by social media. I get that there are major concerns going on in this world, there will always be. But you need to focus more on your life. Life is a challenge just to begin w. But to be concerned about everything else. It’s going to drive you insane. If you’re really that concerned pick a couple things to focus on to try to help support. But you’re going to drive yourself to an early grave trying to worry about everything that is going on. I used to do the same, but now I’ve really toned it down. SoCal media will feed you everything you’re looking at, so if that’s all your focused on that’s all you’re going to see. If you’re focused on all the engrossing life you’re going to find it no matter what. You need to change your train of thought. Surround yourself w positivity, positive people then things will change. Just my experience in what I’ve done to make things better.

Not me. The 2020s have been great for me and my family. Our stocks have multiplied by more than six times since we invested in 2020. My husband's workplace is booming and he's in high demand. Most of our friends our age have gotten married, bought houses, had kids.

My biggest disappointment this year was that Vegas was too expensive for my husband to take a business trip there, which I would have gotten to tag along with. But overall, life has been going pretty well.

Life goes by so you have to make theost of your time. I always try to adapt to whatever decade I'm in, and figure out what's good about it. As for 2026, I feel like it's a great time to stop following the news and focus on my own health and wellness. I can't fix the problems of the world, but I can fix things that are right in front of me in my daily life. From that perspective, this year has been great so far.
