1 moI would like power to be maintained by the people with no dark money, no lobbyists, no mandatory minimum sentences, and promotion of regulations and restrictions on massive corporate entities while promoting affordable sustainable living for the working people, the poor people, homeless people, and mentally unwell.
This goes beyond gender or race, but women tend to grasp with these concepts more carefully and keenly than my fellow men (unfortunately). I would be in favor of electing anyone with this vision, who actually has a history of being consistent however if it were solely gender based probably women. Men have done messed up things well on their own up to this point so, got nothing to lose with a woman here or women as a collective.

A certain viking spoke those very lines in a TV adaptation somewhere if I am not mistaken...🤓

Are you now? Well I am very happy to hear that we were able to impress his Lordship!!😉

🤭🤭I couldn't help myself. I just had to use it. I pay attention I'll have you know. And I have to say it does suit you to a T. And we must always aim at impressing and entertaining a fine Lord when we see one.
I will also add that the quote you speak off was quoted in Season 3 episode 1 of Vikings. The character who spoke those words is called Rhangard. 🤓 - 1 mo
I do not aim for perfection. But a cute and amazing from you is all I need to have me smiling for days!!😉 A misspelling does not mean the fact was wrong but you can correct me all you want and teach me all the lessons you want and feel free to use all the methods you want. 🤭

1 moThis is likely an unpopular opinion, but I'm the type who believes some people should have more rights and power than others. I even believe in dictatorship... in the right hands obviously.
There are incorruptible people in the world... people who have no shred of greed or evil in their hearts and use their lives to continually give to humanity and deliver justice to those who deserve it. Those are the people who deserve to have power and run society. But it's never those people who want to rule over others. Because they're the kindest people. Those types of people should be voted in by the citizens.
When it comes to who should be allowed to have power and vote for who should be in power, it should be only people who are deemed worthy, having a righteous moral compass, and the determination to protect the safety, security, happiness, and life quality of innocent citizens of their country. And people might ask... who defines what is moral? That's an easy copout method of implying that everyone should have the right to vote. But it's really not that hard to know what is morally righteous. Is murder in cold blood okay? No. Is raping okay? No. Should justice be delivered on people who commit those heinous crimes? Yes. Should citizens have the rights to defend themselves using fatal methods if a criminal endangers their life and their family's life? Yes. Should shopkeepers and business owners be able to kill people attempting to rob them? Yes. Should mentally ill people who have killed others and proven to be a danger to society be accountable for their actions and put in the chair? Yes. Etcerera. And if you think otherwise in any of those scenarios I presented, then I'd hate to say it, but your moral compass is fucked up.
Before I say what I want to say next, just know that I believe there ARE good women leaders in the world. And statistics actually show that women perform better as leaders than men do. Women are often rated as engaging in more effective agentic (task-focused) and communal (people-focused) behaviors. Men are rated higher in passive and less effective leadership styles. Women tend to be rated higher on transformational leadership (inspiring, motivating, individualized consideration) and the contingent reward aspect of transactional leadership. Subordinates rated women higher across all 15 leadership competencies measured in a study of the U. S. sports industry.
I highly respect leaders like Giogina Meloni, Sanae Takaichi, Danielle Smith, and Kamla Persad-Bissessar. They are examples of great leaders who possess the moral compass I mentioned and the willingness to act on hard decisions.
However, across the world, I've noticed that women tend to have something we call "suicidal empathy" nowadays. They care so much about other countries causes and they care so much about foreigners living, they lose sight of what's most important... their own family and their own countrymen. It's the reason that countries have become so woke around the world and had mass immigration. They just want everyone to have the same standard of life and safety that they have. Many foreigners do not share your values and come to integrate. It's the reason why rape and crime has dramatically increased in countries who have jumped on the mass immigration trend. And it's the reason why criminals are being defended... because many "woke" people assume they are being targeted for being a "minority". Look into cases like Iryna Zarutska, Bethany McGee, and countless others (I can list tons more) who were the victims of repeat offenders, who are somehow allowed to roam free even after killing or raping them, or both. When society prioritizes the rights of criminals over the safety and security of innocent citizens, you know things are fucked. And that seems to be the case in many "first-world countries" around the world.
The reason why I say power is better in the hands of men generally, is because men do not act on emotion as much as women. They make the hard decisions to prioritize the safety and security of innocent citizens and have no issue carrying out harsh justice among those who deserve it. And yes, there are leaders like Mark Carney, Justin Trudeau, Zohran Mamdani, Keir Starmer, and other clowns who have and are completely running society to the ground. But you know who voted them in? Liberals. And you know what sex the majority of liberals are? Women. Suicidal empathy. If men were the only ones voting, you would never have a liberal leader.
Again, I'd like to clarify that there are many intelligent, logical women with a great moral compass and sense of justice in the world. I've met them. I've spoken with them. I've even dated a few. But I think generally speaking, decisions when it comes to a country and leadership, should be left to men.
Most modern feminists would call me sexist, and that it's good I don't have a say on it.
10 Reply The ring of power is desired by people who want to control and abuse others. It attracted the worst sociopaths you can imagine. The problem isn't the gender its the ring of power or the state apparatus itself. The fact is controlling others is wrong none of us decent people are attracted to the power to control others. And some people once they realize how horrible and corrupt the system is come back and say it cannot be reformed, those people are right. It can only be abolished. For those in comments using the term "leaders". The domination of the state has nothing to do with leadership. They are not "leaders of the free world" they are control freaks who want more power and control over you. Leadership is something that happens in voluntary context. A leader is not a slave master or something you MUST obey. Government and every law is a threat of VIOLENCE. Its not leadership coming from elected officials its domination and control. Its you obey or we send thugs with guns after you. Peace Peace

1 moI think power is better held in the hands of sane well balanced personalities and gender has little to do with it. But seeing that sane well balanced people are never the dysfunctional assholes who lust after power, I think we need multiple layers of checks and balances plus accountability for power.
And we need to take into account the possibility that a mentally defective scumbag could come to power and install his or her cronies in government thereby creating a King who answers to no one. Which is where we currently stand in the USA. The ultimate check on power is the will of the people. A vote that can be triggered to remove a dangerous person with power. And his corrupt court. And his toadies in the legislature.
Failing this we leave the matter to the people in Civil War.

1 moIts not really a gender thing but even saying that since the majority of women are raised to be more empathetic and emotionally mature/intelligent i would think they tend to make for better leaders. My example would be Claudia Shinebaum in Mexico

1 moLet's look at history...
For hundreds of years, men ruled, and the world survived
Since women were given the right to vote and hold office, about a hundred years ago, there are many who say the world has gone to shit.
Who was it that said "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."?
30 Reply Power isn’t better in the hands of men or women , it’s better in the hands of people who are self aware, grounded, and responsible.
Gender doesn’t guarantee wisdom or integrity.
The real difference comes from character, values, and how someone chooses to use that power.10 Reply- 1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 moI think it's better off in a group but there should be a set of circumstances where one-3 people can be in charge... Like you know, if a capitalist society were to fall into corperate oligarchy because of politicians selling off regulations, rights and laws to the highest foreign and domestic bidder effectively making the government a service for the super rich and effectively stripping the nation of its democracy (or republic or whatever some pick me is gonna take issue with here)

m 1 moI believe power and responsibilities should be distributed as much as possible to the largest possible number of people. In order to mitigate, possibly negate, the effects of corruption on those in charge and repel those who were corrupted in the first place.
Ideally, it means anarchy. That is, equally shared power and responsibilities in the hands of everyone. That's not very practical in the current state of things lol, still I like the idea.
10 Reply Definitely in a group of people. And to answer the question in the title, I think men are more inclined to get carried away and might quarrel over futile things. Or have very big egos, like you know who. Starting a war or invading a country to remove someone from power are acts against legality and even common sense.
10 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I believe that there is way too much emphasis on the power play between the sexes these days.
Stupid social media sites puts these ideas into people's minds that make them feel like they have to be empowered and powerful.
Man, just take one day at a time and every situation is different.
No one should be wrestling with anyone to prove that they are powerful.
I didn't answer your question, I know, but I don't believe that it belongs to either but to both.10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Power is Great in Hands of Men, Who are in hands of women!..
See Men cannot be corrupted by power, but they Lack the Vector, the Purpose to use that power.. so they end up misusing it.
Women get corrupted by power and thinks she owns everyone..
Neither of them are fit to hold power alone..
But together A man can Hold power and a women gives him purpose to use that power correctly. And Together they Form Yin-yang The perfect Balance in their Unity

1 moI think power can make any man or woman suceptible to corruption. To test that theory we would need more women in power to see it through. My heart says, I hope of more women were in power things would be better. More women meaning a greater percentage of women than today in the collective group you're suggesting. I believe diversity of all sorts in groups can create more empathy and better decisions that require voices of different segments of the population to be heard and served.

1 moMen have done such a great job with it historically, haven't they?
14 Reply- 1 mo
Humans have always had conflict and fighting, but under men's leadership, we have also created civilization. We don't starve to death in the millions because of a famine. We have advanced medicine. We have art in many forms.
Are you aware that for nearly all of human history, the average human lifespan was around 30, with a few isolated exceptions. The Industrial Revolution raised that number to 38 by 1900, and post WWII it's over 70 in western countries. Those are all very real accomplishments.
There are no civilians led by women bigger than a large tribe (perhaps 300 people) who have endured for more than two generations in the history of the planet.
You can give plenty of reasons for that, but it doesn't change the real numbers. - 1 mo
@MrOracle I've heard this nonsense my whole life, Mr. O. It's like saying "White people are better at ice hockey than black people". How many black kids were able to afford what youth ice hockey entails, even if they wanted to? Your employing logic by omission. Obviously, men have made great inventions and discovered great things and created civilizations --- which is what you'd EXPECT to find because MEN were the only ones involved in doing so !!!
The fact is women were never afforded the same opportunities to lead or learn, as men were. When they are, they're quite formidable, and they invented many things you use today in daily life. They've also led nations.
Writing off mankind's conflicts and wars to "human nature" doesn't discount the fact that it sill happened under men's leadership about 99% of the time. Hence, my statement. No one knows what the world would be like in a more matriarchal setting, but I do love how the suggestion of it triggers guys. It's fascinating. - 1 mo
WHY were women not afforded the same opportunities, anywhere on Earth, for all of human history? Even isolated people who never encountered a different civilization?
I suspect that there has to be a reason the same pattern repeated over and over and over again throughout history across the globe, don't you? - 1 mo
