We have before -- there are a number of disgraced Democratic officials who were elected, then found to have behaved illegally or unethically.
Perhaps so, but nowadays? I don't think so.
¨A number¨ means in the past few decades, not a substantial number of currently elected officials. There are a much larger number of conservatives being convicted of child SA.
