The only other candidate who even has the means of telling the unelected bureaucrats to pound sand is Vivek Ramaswamy, who is overall my first choice at this point in time, though realistically he's not getting the nomination in the end as long as Trump is on the ballot.
A DeSantis presidency would strongly mirror George W Bush: he gets elected for being a fantastic governor, but goes in with so many strings attached to unsavory scum that his performance as a president will be considered a disappointment. The proof is how he actively dodges answering any questions about Ukraine, and half the time he's clearly reading off of a script that was just handed to him. He is well-liked, but there's an albatross around his neck.
Those are the only alternatives that stand a chance at winning anything. Nobody wants Haley, Christie, Pence, Scott, etc. If that's the direction the party insists on going, they may as well put Mitch McConnell on stage in a catatonic state and hope for the best as two despised vegetables duke it out.

Everyone said he had no chance of winning in 2015, from his first announcement to the day of the election. There are videos full of clips of the "smartest" people in the world saying he would never win. The same thing is starting to happen now. Democrats throw phony charges at him which only strengthen support for him due to the blatant misuse of the justice system. Conservative Democrats and moderate Democrats are fed up with their party deserting them for their agenda to destroy this country. Republicans are weak in their convictions and not willing to fight for what's right. That leaves Trump as the only one who truly supports American values.
Trump knows how to play the system. He targets the type of person most politicians don't want to be associated with because he knows a vote is a vote regardless. More sensible Republican supporters may not agree with the pool of bigots and hate mongers that flock to Trumps banner but Trump knows come Election Day they'll vote for him.

Virtually every poll says you are wrong and that Trump would win the general election.
Anyone who believes in liberty must NOT ALLOW the corrupt propaganda against Trump to determine who will be president. THE PEOPLE must choose who will be president, not corrupt unelected bureaucrats, anti-democracy political operatives, and the corrupt media they control. That's what happens in third world dictatorships not in America. We MUST NOT let them get away with it here. Trump was a fantastic president who made this country great for the first time in decades. But even besides that we MUST elect him again to push back on the corrupt forces that are corrupting our elections.
I was voting DeSantis this time around with the expectation he would lose. After the third set of BS indictments against Trump this week, I just gave him $200.
Trump has been right about so many things its mind boggling. Germany supporting the Russians with gas purchases in the billions and taking advantage of Nato/US, the huge inflow at the border now overrunning even northern cities, the need for Space Force, the Chinese creating Covid in the Wuhan lab, he tried to seal off the border for Covid and was called racist by Europe who then later had to closer their borders… so much more.
On too of that we had a great economy, low interest rates, less crime, more jobs, better prices for food, gas and other items. If you want a great economy again, vote Trump.
Well, I'm pretty sure any of the Republican candidates would be subjected to a full-court press of negativity from the Democrats' propaganda arm once they were the apparent nominee. Especially the nonwhite candidates.
But since you're being deliberately obtuse, it's because Trump isn't part of the corrupt professional politician apparatus and has better positions on the economy, which is what people really care about, not social issues. And that's why he has a better chance to win than the other Republicans do.

Initially I wanted Desantis. I think he’s the best candidate. However, since the Biden administration and Democrats have tried so hard to remove him from office and keep him from office I now want him to win. Just to piss them off.
