Todd Blanche became acting attorney general eleven days ago, after Trump fired Pam Bondi twelve days before she was scheduled to be deposed by Congress about the Epstein files.

Blanche celebrated his first hours as the nation’s top law enforcement officer by going on Fox News to claim that there are no remaining unreleased Epstein files and actually everyone should stop thinking about them.

“We are not sitting on a single piece of paper,” Blanche told Fox News Tuesday.

Congress set a December 19 deadline for the full release. The DOJ missed it by months. When some files did come out, the law was clear: redact victim names, but not the names of powerful people connected to Epstein. The DOJ managed to get this backwards by leaving some survivors unredacted while the men who abused them stayed hidden.

Meanwhile, Senator Ron Wyden revealed that Blanche had personally intervened to block the DEA from releasing an unredacted 69-page document related to a secret investigation into drug trafficking and prostitution connected to Epstein and several associates. Blanche claims there’s nothing left to release.

The House Oversight Committee, which had subpoenaed Bondi to testify, is now quietly exploring whether that subpoena applies to Blanche instead. Chairman James Comer announced he would be conferring with colleagues on next steps, which is the congressional equivalent of saying you’ll circle back on an email you have no intention of answering.

Joe Biden is essentially long gone, and this conversation is not about Joe Biden despite your attempt to deflect to that. Pick up your own question and include Joe Biden if you want to.

How do you know that? Did you read everything in the files?

I mean, if you did, there are a lot of people that would want to talk to you, including me.

Where’s the prosecution? Where’s the lawsuits?

I think we first need to have some evidence, which, of course, Trump's Attorney General is withholding in violation of the law, not that the law matters to anyone anymore.

So there were millions of pages of documents released. You're admitting there's no evidence in those files.

So what actually happened is not an absence of evidence. What happened was a lot of redaction. Surely you know the difference.

Right. So there were victims of Epstein's trafficking. Where are their lawsuits?

Since I believe that any existing evidence has been hidden, it's pretty hard to persuade a lawyer to bring a lawsuit in the absence of evidence, since even though they don't want to work for free.

Right, so as I stated, the released files have nothing in them that would hold up in court. Thanks for playing.

I'm not playing your game, friend. Those released files have been tampered with. Tampered-with evidence is illegal evidence. There are still files to be released at some point. When those are released, hopefully they won't have been tampered with, but I suppose ultimately if everything has been tampered with and the tampered-with portions have been destroyed, then you win. We will find another way to get rid of him.

You do understand what "discovery" phase of a lawsuit is, right? If these victims brought a civil lawsuit against Epstein's estate the files couldn't be redacted.

The files could and would be redacted, whether the court likes it or not. The people who do these kinds of redactions don't give a damn what the law is. You can go fuck yourself regarding what I do and don't give a flying fuck about. What I really don't give a flying fuck about is whether or not you like my beliefs.
