Have you ever tried to help a homeless person?

I am not a bleeding-heart liberal, but to see a woman living on the street, hungry, ragged, desperate, is not something I just walk/drive bye and not try to do something to help them. My lady friend is the same and she lives in a climate that is desperately cold in the winter with snow, ice and below freezing temperatures many, many days. She tries to do what she can for those desperate persons like I try to do.

She told me recently, that 'some things cannot be fixed' and many times I am forced to believe her.

I’ve worked and volunteered at homeless shelters and it is not something I wanna do again. I work and they watch. They won’t lift a finger to do anything.

I try to give fast food a few times cause he's hungry. He only wants money to buy cigarettes. I said no and walked away

@Jeff51 agree. I will BUY them anything, they want or need but never give money. Gave a very sad and desperate woman a new cart to carry her belongings and took her to eat at my favorite restaurant. Bless you friend.

Yeah I have and it turns out there’s always a reason of their own choosing why they’re homeless

There are plenty of homeless shelters where I live, but they require you to be clean and sober, so many opt out.

No, all they want is money for booze and or drugs.

To elaborate, some were successful in gaining employment and a home of their own. A couple stole from me and ended up in jail while one fell in with a very bad older woman and he's now in prison. His letter said he had found God.
