Americans have NO idea how deeply they are being grifted. No idea whatsoever. Billions, not millions, but BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars are being funneled off to private equity enterprises, some of which disappear days after they're created, into the pockets of Trump's dirty friends.

The current biggest grifts are the detention center/concentration camps, data centers which consume virtually all local water and electrical resources causing your prices to double or triple, which leads to the next grift: the GRID.

The most important and vulnerable asset of the USA is not oil, or gas, or any other resource, it's the grid, and it's due for $7 to 8 TRILLION dollars in upgrades over the next few decades. But who owns the grid? Taxpayers? No. Municipalities? Nope. The state or federal government? Wrong again. Private firms own the grids throughout the country, and they're not all connected either.

Here's the fun part. Every upgrade, every fix, every repair, is mandated by law to be paid for by US, the users, the customers. And, they are required to make a profit! That's right, required by law to make a profit.

Bottom line: Over the next ten years, the average cost to users JUST for the UPGRADES will be $140 a month. That's an average; some will pay much less, some more. That's because you're paying a PRIVATE for profit company to maintain the grid in your area.

But what if it were nationalized, like the military, and received funding from the same source and it was NOT for profit? Uh oh, isn't that socialism? LOL No dummies, it's called good government providing for it's citizens via their taxpayer dollars. What would that cost over the next 10 years?

$8.50 a month. EIGHT DOLLARS and fifty cents a month.

Before you maga-dolts squawk bullshit about how bad the service "would be", why would it change? Same personnel, more money available to hire MORE personnel, and a dedication to service, not profit. If you're service is shit now, it will get better. If it's good now, it will become EVEN better.

The national grid is connected for the most part except for the Texas ERCOT disaster that reliably fails in any extreme weather, hot or cold. But you're correct about the privatization of the grid state by state. Munis still exist but they are small and mostly in rural areas. But every state with privatized electric utilities is being systematically raped. Sign me up for a return to state and federal control of a national electric grid. Let's get back to service instead of profit. And let's get back to healthcare outcomes instead of profit while we're at it.

@OneViewpoint There's not much evidence that the USA ever really cared about healthcare outcomes. Accident coverage dates back to the 1850's and illness to the 1890's. Teddy Roosevelt made a push for it during his Presidency, but once the Rockefellers got involved and petroleum based drug care became the norm, it was all over.

It would be great to first "get there" for health outcomes, but that requires a commitment to preventative care, education and the TRUTH. Where are we going to find THAT on the corporate level?
