Should I leave my noisy duplex for a detached house with better privacy?

I moved into a beautiful remodeled duplex. However the walls are paper thin which is something the owner didn't share. The owner said the walls were insulated, lies! It literally feels and hears like the neighbor is in my unit. My previous apartment had better sound insulation. On top of this my neighbor is mentally ill and unhappy with her life. She doesn't like me for whatever reason and I've done nothing wrong to her. She creates excessive noise. I'm wondering if it's best to move and find a detached place?

I can't even talk on my phone or sleep in the main room connected to her wall because she's so nosey, noisy and it's uncomfortable.

You could look at sound proofing. Assuming you have plaster board on the common wall, you could replace with plaster board with acoustic qualities. Or line with lead or lead doped acoustic insulation than acoustic plasterboard.

Probably better to hire an acoustic engineer to do design and get it done right the first time. Prob $5K for that. It is going to cost to sell and buy elsewhere so logically you should compare costs of selling up vs remedial works.

You have legal entitlements to 'quiet enjoyment' of your property so a lawyer might be able to help but nutters are nutters. If the problem is she plays music too loud there is more hope in legal path. Your Local Council might help.

White noise and noise cancelling head phones are possibilities too. And you could hire a hitman.

If you generally like the setting and if your rental is a very good value, you should consider sound insulating the common walls at your expense. You can hang foam sound insulation on your common walls with just a few screw holes. And then you can fill them when you move out.
