If there was a decision to ban all extremist parties in your country would you agree?
- 6.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
2 moNo. At least the traditional nazi/far right parties were open and honest about their policies. There wasn't any dog whistles they just came right out and said, "kick out all non whites." You might not agree with them you knew where you stood.
The problem with modern far right parties like Reform is pretty much all their supporters are screaming kick them out or string them up yet magically the party leaders claim they're not a racist organisation. They've toned down the racist rhetoric but it's still pretty obvious what they're about.
Where once they painted swastikas and f**k off back to the jungle N@@@@r on walls now they raise English flags on lamppost and pretend it's patriotism but everyone know different.32 Reply- 2 mo
Why not ban them?
- 2 mo
These parties tend not get banned because of their beliefs they get banned because they're violent or involved in crime. I'd much rather they exist because at least they can be watched.

2 moNo! Everyone has the right to an opinion whatever that opinion might be. Banning anything is denying democracy.

Blaming Jews for anything? That's not a opinion to respect.
- 2 mo
What have Jews got to do with it?
- 2 mo
That's what neo Nazis parties think... isn't it clear?
- 2 mo
But not necessarily all right wing parties.
- 2 mo
Jesus Christ you people
I literally specificed FAR RIGHT, I didn't say all right wing.

m 2 moTough Q.
I hear the argument saying that a ban would make them operating underground which could be more dangerous than having them going mainstream. On the other hand, mainstream gave them more visibility, more audience and inevitably more opportunity to appeal to our silliest instincts.
I dislike this question, fuck lol, but it's a good one, yep.

6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. That would open the door to banning other ideologies. It would lead to greater authoritarian control. And I wouldn't trust the people making the rules.
I would hope that the courts would strike down any such laws as unconstitutional.13 Reply- 2 mo
Other extremist ideologies.

u 2 moAll extremist groups, left, right and religious should be banned. Why should the state tolerate something that overtly or covertly works towards its destruction?
28 Reply- 2 mo
Why not ban all politics? Left right and centre. Let anarchy rule OK!
- 2 mo
No thanks. That's just an idiotic pipe-dream.
- 2 mo
Your way is undemocratic!
- 2 mo
You protect democracy by denying extremists their possibilities to destroy it.
- 2 mo
Just because you consider right and left to be wrong does not make your way better.. If everyone votes extreme right, thati is what voters want and it is democracy at work.
- 2 mo
The vast majority of people consider *extremist* right and *extremist* left to be dangerous to democracy, so having them operate unchecked, trying to dismantle democracy is clearly not democracy at work. That's why German democracy stopped working in 1933 and the following years caused the death of 50 million people. Weird, having to explain history to a European neighbor. Certainly we won't let that happen again.
"It will always remain one of democracy's best jokes that it provided its deadly enemies with the means by which it was destroyed."

I know all that. In uk, we have a very dangerous left wing party, the Green party. They advocate for many bad policies, such as open borders, allowing use of narcotics, de-funding police etc.
However, they have the right to exist and are suported by many young females. See today's Daily Mail newspaper. - 2 mo
If your Green Party is like our Green Party, they are more interested in ecological topics. Our Green Party was junior partner in government from 1998-2005 and nothing bad happened because of them.
The extremist left I mean is demanding insanely high taxes, exit from NATO, strong relationship with Russia and more dangerous nonsense. Their terroristic arms are blowing up prisons, army installations and energy infrastructure.
I don't want to read tabloids, sorry. Find me a better news source.

2 moYou can ban them but far left parties are the real problem. There aren't any actual far right parties with any political power. Typically they are some bizarre Nazi organization that most people don't know exist.
04 Reply- 2 mo
Far left parties are obscure as well
- 2 mo
True they don't form political parties because they know no one would vote for them.
- 2 mo
If they are equally obscure why is the far left a bigger problem?
- 2 mo
They get more funding to riot. The right just gets funding for fake Nazi groups

2 moNo, if you can't be free to be a Nazi, you aren't free. Plus if you let these people just hide in the dark, they go crazy and become far more radical. Let them say what they want and just debunk it. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

2 moNo because people lie that non racist are racist and moderates are 'far right" - but those who try to silence the right - deserve to get what they try to do!

2 moshould all socialist/far left parties and organizations be banned? stop thinking in examples and anekdotes. think in principle. if what you disagree with is forbidden, that means what you agree with can be forbidden.
02 Reply- 2 mo
Yes they should be banned
- 2 mo
fair enough then. if you accept that extremism on either side is bad.
12.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Far left/Democrat/socialist/Communist parties and organizations should be banned. I corrected your question to reality.

Democrats r evil an sheet
Anonymous(25-29)2 moThey would still meet on their own and call it something else. You aren't entitled to just eliminate all beliefs because you don't like them.
21 Reply- 2 mo
These are literally extremist beliefs, not just "any" beliefs.
3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nope that's what we call censorship which is negative 99% of the time this is one of those times. Sadly a lot of people can't see that until it happens to them.
00 Reply- 5.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
2 moNo, because of the first ammendment. Even if we COULD, we'd have to ban far left ones too, to be fair. And then everyone would be trying to get each other banned and where would it end?
01 Reply- 2 mo
Nobody outside the extremist parties wants each other banned, that won't happen.
Anonymous(25-29)2 moNo as you know how that would go.
Basically like today anyone leftists dont like would be branded a far right nazi
00 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Don't you have it backwards? It's the people on the left not the right who are like that.

27.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Who decides what makes s group a far right extemremist group? Democrats?
03 Reply- 2 mo
No, if a group supports a ideology that is associated with far right beliefs that group is a far right group, simple as that.
- 2 mo
Why do you act dumb on purpose?
Do you feel personally attacked?
Far right beliefs are clear.
Have you ever read a paragraph of information about them?
If you would have you would know it includes beliefs like believing in antisemitic conspiracy, believing in white replacement, white supremacy, gende roles of old times etc etc
Yes, I support banning the democrat party and Southern Poverty Law Center.

They hate Jews
- 2 mo
Graham Platner, for instance. And they do hate jews. They just showed on the news today where a bunch of left-wing attackers attacked a synagogue in New York City. It was so bad at the police actually had to get involved for a change.
- 2 mo
@KostasKouvalis they don't.
- 2 mo
Most of them don't hate jews.
Far right attacks are still way more common and the norm. - 2 mo
Not in my country.
- 2 mo
Yeah they DO! In MY country they do
- 2 mo
Where you from
- 2 mo
@KostasKouvalis where you from
- 2 mo
The left hate Jews in America.
- 2 mo
USA.
- 2 mo
Agreed I have Jewish associates and they have far bigger issues with the left than the right
- 2 mo
@jamesgoldman
Those violent protesters on college campuses sure aren’t right wing. - 2 mo
You're a Jew yourself. Goldman.
But in the UK TOO? I'm not surprised. Probably even worse in Ireland.
But yeah, my art history professor was a Jew and students wrote in their papers that Christianity was the religion of the poor and Judaism was the religion of the wealthy, as well as some other Jewish stereotypes. The teacher scolded them.
My religious studies professor was also a Jew and same thing. One girl called Honukah the "Jewish Christmas" and a bunch of students compared Israel's treatment of Palestinians to the Holocaust. The teacher called them out too. - 2 mo
I happened to be walking by my old campus one time, and some pro-Palestinian protestors wanted me to sign a petition. I told them, "NO! Palestinians were bringing bombs to Israeli schools and synagogues!" They got so quiet.
- 2 mo
I should add in spite of my name here I'm not actually Jewish myself, it's merely my trade and the fact I'm a man (6 years ago I was actually exploring a different business and consider using that for my screen name but that had more negative connections and the business fell through anyway)
