Donald Trump said the country Spain is a loser.

1 moI wanted to in the past. I went to Barcelona/Catalonia and wasn't too impressed. And I lost respsct for Spaniards, because they happily took tourists' money, but then had a taxi and Uber strike and didn't give a shit how tourists will get home. We wasted an entire day trying to arrange transportation to the airport and no one would help us.
Also, the way their governmenr has been acting towards the US, and also the anti-tourism stuff, I don't know if I want to support a country and people like that.
And like I said, I went to Catalonia and wasn't impressed. It was my least interesting European trip. Spain used to be on my bucket list and one of my favorite countries, but now it looks boring. Especially after visiting Italy, Greece and Turkey, I Spain would disappoint me. I'd rather go to France and Portugal.
The only region of Spain I'd maybe still want to visit are the Canary Islands. But I don't think I will until they get a new president and stop with the tourist attacks.
But yeah, when I was in Barcelona I was like, "this feels no different from Spanish COLONIAL cities I've visited". So I have no incentive to visit Spain over other countries. Maybe if I was in Portugal, I would hop over for a day, but I can't see myself making a special trip there any time soon.00 Reply

2 moTell me something he hasn't insulted yet. He changes his opinion on people more often than his underwear. And people who can't make up their own mind and let themselves influence by this orange monkey aren't much better either. If you're interested in Spain just look it up and make up your mind if you want to come here or not. If it takes one stupid comment from him to change your opinion you probably weren't much interested in the country to begin with 🤷♀️

What do you think of MY comment?
- 1 mo
@KostasKouvalis very ignorant comment.
- 1 mo
So pretty much anyone who criticizes Spain is ignorant, got it. Looks like I found the Pakistanis of Europe
- 1 mo
@KostasKouvalis ignorant comment followed by a racist comment. Well done. You could have asked what's wrong about it but instead rather insult another nation on top.
- 1 mo
RACIST? We're talking about nationalities and attitudes here.
And thank you for proving my point about Spaniards😂
And the fact that you take being called a "Pakistani" as an insult, means you don't have high opinons of them yourself. - 1 mo
@KostasKouvalis Ok, I think this is a waste of time but out of the kindness of my heart I'll explain it once.
"the Pakistanis of Europe" is clearly meant in a derogatory way. If you see Pakistanis as worse people just because they're from Pakistan, it's racist.
You visit one small part of Spain and judge the whole country by it. It's like me going to New York and then calling the US a shithole because I didn't like it. I'm sure people from Texas, California, Midwest etc would love that too!
You complain about taxis striking and that people don't care about tourists not getting back home. But you obviously don't care why they are striking. Guess what? Many don't want you to come! The mass tourism is destroying people's lives. They can't afford to live their anymore, housing prices are through the roof, services and products are priced for rich tourists and not for locals with low wages. They protest because they're afraid that they have to give up their home and you cry about losing some time to get to the airport. Of course they couldn't care less. I'm not saying you need to like the situation but complaining like this is just absolutely ignorant. Just take the train/bus if taxis don't drive or worst case rent a car for a few hours 🙄 Spoiler: Canary Islands have a lot of protests going on because of mass tourism too.
And what has the government done towards the US? Not wanting to get dragged into a pointless war they don't want and didn't get asked about? Good luck finding countries in Europe who feel different about it. Not even Trumps best buddy Meloni wants it and rejected help, from your beloved Italy.
Anyway. As you might be able to guess from my initial opinion, I don't care if people like Spain or not. I just don't like it they justify their negative opinion with some ignorant arguments. - 1 mo
It's not about THAT. It's about attitude. I'm saying they act and respond the same way when someone says they don't like their country. It's just comparing similar traits. No one said anyone is superior or inferior to anyone.
You can call the U. S. a "shithole". I don't care. It kind of IS.
Oh, but taking our money was completely fine?
Good! I don't want to come to a country that hates me.
So water gun the POLITICIANS who allowed it in the first place. Why aren't they going after the POLITICIANS? Or the migrants who are doing REAL harm.
The bus wasn't running either.
I know. That's why I'm putting them off right now too.
DRAGGED? We literally just asked you to let us launch planes from your bases. Then why are you even in NATO if you don't want to help us when WE need it? But when Russia is on your doorstep, the Americans are the first people you call and the first people to assist you.
I know. I'm very disappointed in her. And I know it's not just Spain, but we're talking about Spain here.
If you don't care then why are you so angry?
They're not ignorant at all. And many people have bad opinions of Spaniards. You don't know the saying, "2 is a coincidence, 3 is a pattern." And you even said yourself, they're protesting in the Canaries too. Spain has the most widespread protests, so it's just one or two regions.
Tell me, why don't you give Catalonia and Basque Country independence? - 1 mo
It's YOU guys who hate US! I had no issue with you guys, until you started acting hostile towards US!
- 1 mo
I liked Spain and Spanish culture, so it hurts and saddens me to see this kind of hostility and anti-American sentiment from you guys. I understand you're being priced out, and I am sorry, but take your anger out on your POLITICIANS, not people who want to experience your country and culture.
- 1 mo
@KostasKouvalis you seem to generally have difficulties to differentiate. You find something you don't like and then throw everything into the same basket.
I'm on holiday and don't feel like wasting any more energy on this since it's pointless like I said already before.
Feel free to not come to Spain anymore if you don't like it. And if you ever change your mind, maybe try a region that isn't suffering from mass tourism. You know, if your visit doesn't make people's lives worse, maybe they will be nicer? Crazy concept, I know. I live in a tourist destination too by the way and I'm in a shared flat despite having an ok paying job. That's life. And I don't have a problem with tourists in general, just a certain type of tourist.
Oh and just in case you didn't know, NATO is a DEFENSIVE alliance. It's not there to support pointless offensive wars they didn't get asked about beforehand. The only time the NATO had to help was for the US by the way... Just saying 🤷♀️
Anyway bye 👋 - 1 mo
MY visit won't make it worse. You don't know me. So I can be generalized, but can't generalize myself?
"And I don't have a problem with tourists in general, just a certain type of tourist." That's great! If only all your countrymen and women shared the same mindset.
So we were supposed to wait for another 9/11?
Have fun on your vacation. I bet it's nice to be able to vacation without being harrassed and accosted.

There is interesting history and very early Megalith structure was just recently found dating to 6000 BC. That would get me cause you can't see that history elsewhere.
There is a pilgrim trail you can take that has a wine fountain. How good is that?
They are losers though. Despite Spain being about double Australia's population there GDP is often lower than our's.
Plus our Global Fire Power Index is higher than their's despite that double the population advantage. They are the only large European country we could take on.
Yeah losers.05 Reply
Asker1 moI had to do a bit of research based on what you said. It’s true Australia GDP is higher but not by that much. In 2026 Australia placed 12th and Spain 14th. Even though Spain GDP may be a little lower there GDP is still not bad so I wouldn’t say they are losers. They are within the top 20 countries around the world. That sounds like success to me.
https://www.worldometers.info/gdp/gdp-by-country/
Asker1 mothere are over 190 countries in the world and Spain's GDP is in the top 20. That doesn’t sound like losing to me. Also Donald Trump called Spain a loser because they refused to help him with the Iranian war. It had nothing to do with their GDP.
- 1 mo
This I support him on. Shame on them! It's not like he asked for ground troops or air support. He literally just asked to let us launch planes from their bases. Fucking assholes
Asker1 mo@KostasKouvalis Donald Trump called Joe Kent a loser. Donald Trump has a long history of calling other people losers. Joe Kent was the man who resigned and said Iran did not pose an imminent threat and claimed the administration was pressured into the war by Israel.
- 1 mo
Thanks for doing research :) With twice the population, Spain should be higher up the Global Firepower Index than what they are. Spain is a pathetic #20. Italy which is not much larger in population is at #10. UK and France are in the top 10. Germany is not but it is rearming so they will be.
So we can say that they are officially a mendicant state, bludging on UK France and Italy and even Germany. So they are losers in that respect.
Economically Spain's GDP per capita is only $41K whereas Australia's GDP per capital is $76K getting close to double Spain. They are meant to be a First World country for god's sake so should be able to do better.
The EU actually subsidizes them with 20 billion Euros a year.
Still looking like losers to me.
