I think it goes far beyond that. This is just a subsection of the GRAND plan to remake society. First it was women entering the work force to increase revenue. That filled the gap to get us close to AI and eventually quantum computing. As we drew closer there was no longer a need for as many of the great unwashed masses. Enter the gay agenda and trans rights. Convince women that they have been oppressed by the pariarchy. You've already given them money to stand on their own. Tell them the can keep f***ing, but that raising children are reprehensible so that they are motivated to murder their offspring should they have any. If they're gay all the better because then they won't be having any kids. This will draw down the birthrate and prepare society for the next evolution. Again we don't need a high population anymore. A number of other things as well. Increased neuroticism. I'd say the general removal of men from female childs lives has a lot to with it.

Median length of marriage is 8 years. That is about the time it takes to have two kiddies and get both into elementary/primary school. So it is increasing unlikely that a child has a relationship with a mature man.

Isn't going to happen during school years or even in college. The child's mother is quite like having fun with multiple men over time and that will further degrade the daughter's opinions of men.

Toxic dating advice can only gain cultural influence when there is already a large population of frustrated people desperately looking for answers. The manosphere did not explode because millions of young men suddenly woke up one day wanting “control.” It exploded because young men felt romantically unsuccessful, economically unstable, and alienated by a mainstream culture that treats masculinity itself as a defect.

@kissmyring That’s a massive oversimplification. Masculine culture is not created in a sealed room where only men influence each other. Women influence it too through dating preferences, family expectations, motherhood, education, and social approval or disapproval. Men absolutely pressure other men, but women also reward, reject, shame, or encourage certain male behaviors.

For example, plenty of men learn very quickly that vulnerability, emotional weakness, low status, or lack of ambition can make them less attractive to women. That shapes masculine behavior whether people want to admit it or not. Gender roles are reinforced by both sexes, not just one.

@jshm2 Saying “many women are not attending university” does not answer the demographic point. Of course not every woman attends college. But women are still the majority of undergraduate students in the United States. NCES data shows female students made up 58% of total undergraduate enrollment, and women have outpaced men in college completion for years.

So young women are not merely reacting to “false impersonations” on social media. A large share of them are also passing through institutions where gender is often framed through patriarchy, oppression, privilege, DEI, and toxic masculinity narratives.

That does not prove universities are the only cause, but it absolutely makes higher education relevant to the discussion. Pretending university culture has no role while women are overrepresented on campus ignores the institutional side of the problem.
