250 million years from now: A University of Bristol study predicts a mass extinction event where global temperatures and extreme humidity levels will wipe out mammals, including humans.

1 billion years from now: NASA supercomputer models and the findings of University of Washington astronomer Donald Brownlee show that the Sun will naturally brighten over time, causing our oceans to evaporate and permanently stripping Earth of its oxygen and all complex life.

The Physical Destruction of Earth
5 to 7.5 billion years from now: The Sun will exhaust its core hydrogen and swell into a "Red Giant". It will become so large that it will engulf and incinerate the inner planets, including Earth, melting the planet to its core and leaving nothing but a charred rock.

The "Big Crunch" (~20 to 33 billion years from now): Data from dark-energy observatories (such as DES and DESI) has led some physicists to theorize that the cosmos may stop expanding and reverse course. Stars will burn through all their fuel and die, galaxies will go dark, and the universe will end as a cold, motionless void.
Vacuum Decay (Any moment): A quantum theory suggesting our universe exists in an unstable "false vacuum". If a quantum fluctuation triggers a phase transition, a bubble of "new physics" could rapidly expand outward at the speed of light, destroying all known matter without warning.

The way thing are now, we are closer to it but not there yet. Biblically, there will be more suffering of people, famine, war and disease, if you can imagine that. The world will be consumed by fire, which to me sounds like nuclear war. I see that many things predicted in religious text has come through. But no now knows when it will happen or how, only God and that will never be known as the Bible says, Christ will come like a thief in the night.

Ironically, all the false prophets of Cristianity are just false prophets.

The Hebrew Bible states in two places that the world will never be destroyed, and moreover, God promises a perpetual generation of humans will live right here on this same Earth in Genesis chapter 9.

Christian false prophets started the whole "end of the world" lie in the NT.

Daniels "End of the Age" is NOT the "End of the World". It is instead the end of human governments, and signifies a time period when God himself will rule over the Earth.

I think it depends... the world as in, the Earth... will just go without us, regardless

the world "as we made it" might also go on without us

if you're thinking more about us, humans... as "a world" and a collective, a lot of things end as we know them to be in the moment, will that happen soon? well how soon is soon? a lot of things if not most things are happening gradually, rather than in abrupt ways

and then, you can think of it from the perspective of time... in our "modern" digital world... the pandemia was FOREVER AGO... but for threes and crocodiles... we are nothing but a glimpse in reality, lol

I don't think the world is ending soon but I fear a lot for our freedom in the west. Everything they once accused china off is being implemented here at a rapid pace with the mass surveillance and limiting of free speech stuff.

And I fear its for a reason because they want to lock us down again but this time combined with a massively restricted internet so its harder to organize against it.

Considering the age of the universe, in a relatively short time period the earth and the rest of our solar system will cease to exist. It can go one of two ways.

The sun will either form a red giant, gradually expanding and swallowing the planets or it will explode as a super nova.

Whichever happens is immaterial. The universe is expanding, and eventually the energy in it will become so diluted that the temperatures will be too low to support any life.

The world as we know it should and will inevitably end. That's the cycle of time. Many ancient civilisations collapsed when they lacked resources they depended on. We're so fragile now that we depend on multiple of those to keep things running.

The end of civilisation sheds out all the rot and tyranny we face.
