Today, at the swimming pool, a young healthy and strong sportsman said me during a conversation that states in general don't like healthy people, supposedly because:
- they are potentially dangerous
- they don't bring in enough money to the state
- they avoid logically unhealthy food
- they don't go often to doctors and buy not enough medecines

The problem seems rather complex. On one hand, for some companies, healthy people would not spend enough for health care, but on the other, other companies, and actually probably also the former ones, don't want their employees to be on disease leave. I guess that opinions, preferences and priorities differ according points of view of involved people, companies and governments. Perfection is not from this world ;0)

Yes, for a couple of reasons.

The feds don't want to make Social Security payments to old people.

Government works for industries, not citizens, so:
- The hospital, medical and pharma industries would lose $trillions if people were healthy.
- The health insurance industry would lose money.
- The farming and food industries would lose $trillions if they weren't allowed to use toxins that slowly poison people and the planet.
- Corporations would not be allowed to externalize their costs by polluting air and water.
- Carpetbaggers like Blackrock, banks and mortgage companies wouldn't have as much opportunity to pick up foreclosed properties when people die young or go bankrupt from medical costs.

Extremely wealthy psychopaths who are very influential in government policy have claimed the need to reduce the human population.

And I wouldn't be surprised if modern government fears a population of physically and mentally strong citizens who are self sufficient and, if necessary, capable of resisting tyranny. It wants people to be weak, dependent, dumbed down and compliant.

That's rather pessimistic, and if true (!), a proof of how stupid many influencive and powerful people are. An element to ponder nevertheless is indeed the earth's overpopulation.

Thank you all who shared their opinion, even if I do not agree with all. My conclusion is that humanity is nearing a breaking point, where a choice will have to be made. We can not continue to live with that many people having no control over their aggressive and selfish instincts, which were only useful when there were only a few communities spread over extended territories.

Fearing that capitalism and general economic dominances reach a dangerous limit, I guess a new kind of government will be created in some distant future. Humanity needs to grow up. Even some insects found a way: ants, bees, termites... As always, the truth is never black or white.

If everyone was perfectly healthy, no one would go to the doctors or take medications (therefore causing the loss of trillions $ globally in the medical industry), and people wouldn’t die unless from freak accidents or old age - causing even more over population and issues. So yes, governments do not want people to be healthy, they don’t want it to be the “norm”.

That's rather cynic, isn't it? Enough people get already naturally ill, and do go to doctors. Set aside the high costs for insurances, what about companies having their employees not showing up because they suffer from some avoidable disease? Do you really think that's what governments and companies want?

Fraud and just plain thievery are the problem; no one will step up and clean it up. Trump is trying, but the thieves and the America Last Democrats are doing everything to stop him, including outright lying and obfuscating cajolery; removing these things. will put capitalism on the right. The other choice is outright communism; we know how that will end. I keep texting Mondami about how he plans to pay for all the free, free, and I get Bullshit and crickets. The Dimocrats do not want healthy people because if people are healthy, they do not need medicine. No medicine, no drug companies make billions of dollars profit therfore the politicians do not get their kickbacks and other perks from them.

I do not think that, not wanting people to be healthy, can be linked to any political party. On the practical side, still if really true, I'd rather suspect multinationals eager to make more money at any costs.

If really true, it can't be only the US Government, and all over the world, there are many avoidable diseases due to smoking, polution, drugs, bad food, addictive medecines, wars, etc.
