As an American, who else feels immigration should require wanting to be American?

there’s some people who want like essentially open borders, there’s some people who want basically no immigration, I welcome people here as long as one of their main motivations is because they want to be American. Of course, you can keep your own language in your own culture, but if you’re going to come here, not learn English, your primary motivation is just to make money and to stay in your bubble, that’s not the kind of immigration this country was built on. I want people who in their bones want to be Americans. And with a lot of it these days, especially illegal, but even to a substantial extent legal immigration there’s not as much nowadays.

There is room in America and brotherhood for all who will support our institutions and aid in our development. But those who come to disturb our peace and dethrone our laws are aliens and enemies forever.

All my grandparents were immigrants. They came to America when they were young and had sponsors and jobs. They never took a dime in welfare. They learned English. They worked hard, owned property an raised families. They all became citizens. My Italian Grandmother still had the little American flag on display in her kitchen. She was really proud of it.
Now these people come from all over the world and expect American taxpayers to support them. Rhye just walk across the border in violation of American immigration laws. They have no desire to assimilate, in fact they expect the rest of us to adopt their customs and religions.
President Trump is right to deport them all. They do not bring anything positve to the country.

Freedom of movement is a widely accepted concept for themselves but want restrictions for others. Can't have it both ways.

America expats are 10x more obnoxious in other countries. So when people from other countries come to America lean in on "when in rome" and grow as big of a fuck you blow me attitude as any home grown American.

Ultimately no one will be subservient to anyone into speaking English. Isn't that truly the American spirit?
