I agree all the way that she should get a job. most of her problems will fade away in no time once she does.

however after she said she has "certificates and experiences" I kinda started feeling sympathy for her because I myself been in that situation numerous of times before. I once worked at the Apple Store fixing phones, took multiple courses on cybersecurity and have 12 certificates at the moment to proof it and even completed some college time yet right now for the past 3 years I been stuck working jobs that I hated and currently hate because not only can I not land a job in the IT field like I did in the past but because cybersecurity itself is not as entry level friendly as big tech corporations market it to be.

also most the vast majority of employers here in my state are extremely picky and prefer networking and popularity over skills and experience, one of the reasons why I'm dying to leave this fucking hellhole.

but going back to the video she never actually testified that she has tried to play her role and at least try to find a job and make use of her experiences and certificates.

The question is are any of her certificates actually recognised by employers? Do they come from bona-fide trainers or just some dodgy internet online course with a 100% pass rate and print off yourself certificate? I suspect the latter.

I don't think she's entirely at fault. People have been led to believe we live in a meritocracy and some how if we do lots of courses, work hard etc then magically doors will open for us. But she's completing with countless university graduates with degrees in the same field and countless people with years of experience under their belts.

I think she's probably just been scammed and doesn't realise it.

There are plenty of jobs out there that are looking for somebody who will just show up on time and not make trouble. Being on TikToc is not a job.

Amd getting an entry level cybersecurity is hard. Better to work with networks for a couple of years to get some experience while working towards an CISSP cert.

I'm gonna start my Comptia+ once my textbook arrives; hopefully this week coming up. they say this is the one that can land you a job a lot easier than the others because its known by most IT and cybersecurity. but I'm still not keeping my hopes up too high.
