What do you think of the Rumor that the United States is about to invade Cuba?

Supposedly the military is training in California in very similar urban conditions.

Cuba is only 90 miles from Florida. Any military operation would immediately create concerns about migration, regional stability, civilian casualties, and international reaction. Even analysts who think military action is conceivable generally discuss something more limited than a classic invasion.

My assessment is that the rumors are being fueled by real increases in tension, but there is not currently public evidence that an invasion order has been issued or that U. S. forces are in the final stages of launching one. The situation is serious enough to watch closely, but not at the point where I would say an invasion is imminent.

I hope it is just a rumor. Cuba is on it's last legs since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. They are in severe poverty. Eventually they will want to become part of the US and we will not have to fire a shot.

@msc545 according to centcom, the Iranian military has lost its naval capacity, missile capacity, leadership, and anti air capacity. Each of this has been significantly degraded. They no longer have any major ships. They have had their missile capacity cut by 90%. Much of their leadership is dead. They have over 500 billion according to Victor David Hanson. They also lose 500 million daily.

I doubt it. Besides, I see no invasion of Greenland being necessary. The US has tried to purchase it from Denmark several times in the past. It's likely we will just regain a military foothold on it like generations past. Trump tends to exaggerate.

Denmark is a sovereign country and World War 2 is over. There is nothing to control unless the United States lose their mind completely and actually invade.

It was uses throughout the cold War and sold back to Denmark for cheap. At this point it plays a strategic position for trade and dealing with China (who attempted to build an airport) and Russia (for obvious reasons).

The US sold its facility back for cheap. China wanted a contract to build an airport, which threatened the US in its own region. The Greenland base was used to counter the ussr.

I will try to explain. The US had an agreement in the early stages of the Cold War to build military facilities to battle the USSR. At one point there more than a dozen and thousands of troops. Most of that was drawn back, hand (and sold on the cheap) to the locals and Denmark. There is only 1 small base there now. Greenland would serve the same strategic purpose it had in the Cold War against Russia, and also combat Chinese influence. It is also a strategic waterway for ports, due to the opening of the pole (ice melting).

Cuba is in a state of collapse. It will be quite different if the US military is involved. The Bay if Pigs involved Brigade 2506, who were CIA Cuban exiles, that received little to no support. I doubt an invasion is even necessary.
