The thing people don't understand is, at the time of life when you are making minimum wage, you should also be splitting the rent with enough roommates that it is affordable.

Minimum wage isn't for adults in the career stage of their lives, it's for young people just starting out and getting their first experience. If you're over 21 and not in school and making minimum wage, you're doing something wrong.

The only thing that matters in making a living is having skills that are valuable enough for someone else to pay for, whether you're working for someone else or have your own business. If the only skills you have are only worth the amount of a forced minimum wage (which means they are really worth much less than that), then you need to get more education, training and experience.
