Cop vs corrections officer: whose job is actually more dangerous?

I think a cops job is. They come into contact with so many people unknown. Each contact they make is dangerous. While yes corrections guard isn’t safe, they have a good idea who they are dealing with.

Cop, you're dealing with criminals that may be armed and very lethal. While the same can be said for the lethal part if you work in corrections, they aren't armed.

i'd say a cops job. cause a corrections officer knows who he's dealing with. a cop doesn't necessarily know if he's gonna encounter just an average law abiding citizen or some crazy person.

Cops, but corrections officers must handle already incarcerated, often dangerous prisoners.
