It's true that the americans overpowered them but they have survived and kept threatning the U. The issue is its a MOU, not a deal. It's bad for optics, and I'm unsure why Trump would agree to it unless he assumes he gets what he wants from talks. Once again, there is NO agreement that Iran gets money. There is an agreement that it will be discussed. Iran, and those against Trump use it against him to make it sound like he's agreed to do it. However, on the American side, the argument is that no frozen funds are released until Iran surrenders to US demands. Then, the US hopes to reform and integrate them into the world. If your argument is peace deals are weakness, you ignore the reality of history. Even the 1991 Gulf War ended in a ceasefire and agreement, and it was one of the most lopsided wars of the 20th century. Very few wars end with the complete destruction if the enemy. This is the propaganda of a defeated enemy, who's economy was collapsing, as an attempt to regain some control, and many in the west want Trump to fail because he is so divisive. Besides, I'm convinced all of this is connected to midterms and the war will resume, then people will complain about genocide.

There has been no money paid, nor any agreements beyond anything but to talk. Iran never controlled the strait but could harass it which complicated insurance and safety of travel. The truth is this. The west has weakened over the decades because of the infiltration and domination of Marxist ideals. You can see it in every aspect of western life. We also have the issue of intense political division that has led to great amounts of misinformation on all sides. It's a very long and complicated story. I believe we will eventually be forced to fight a large scale war internally, and also with external forces such as radical Islam, the chineses sector, and others. Sadly, the US is the only power that can compete but its also very badly divided and infiltrated. If, for example the MOU becomes an official treaty it will likely start the US on a downward trend. Democrats appease enemies, if Republicans begin doing the same, it's hopeless. Many want the US (and the west) to fall, including many who live in those countries. Once again, because of the rise of Marxism. Its a scary time. I believe war will inevitably start again. However, if the MOU becomes a treaty it will likely be the most serious strategic failing in modern US history, and Trump will go down as the worst president in history. Even worse than Buchanan, who's inaction led to the deaths of over 700,000 in Americans bloodiest war, the Civil War. Let's hope Trump comes to his senses. Even half of Republicans are freaking out over it, because it makes no sense. Why whe winning a war decisively, quit halfway, and then agree to talk about things that make the JCPOA look great. He will lose all support if it goes further.

Do not count Trump out; he made a lot of money from people thinking he is dumb. He's playing multilevel chess, and everyone else is playing checkers. Iran is going to find out when they fuck with him over the ceasefire, when the bombs fall out of the sky again with a vengeance; he is giving them enough rope to hang themselves. When Trump came to power, he stopped supporting Ukraine and even began to present invoices for the assistance already provided and demanded that Zelensky surrender. And the text of the document on security guarantees was simply removed from the State Department website... thus, he violated the obligations that the US assumed and demonstrated that no treaties with the states should be concluded.

The only reason I wonder why the Ukrainians have not yet filed a statement with the international court 🤷‍♀️
