As a former Democrat turned independent, I'm going to give the edge to Democrats being worse. Republicans, if disagree with them, they'll at least debate/hear you out before explaining why your wrong/an idiot. Democrats on the other hand, if you disagree with them, even if it's a slight disagreement, they'll throw every name and accusation at you as they attempt to silence and shut you down, this is why I became a independent.
