Racism, while historically real and indefensible, does not actively shape the daily choices; Instead, cultural norms glorifying certain self-destructive behaviors do.

Consider the following:
Racism doesn’t glorify single motherhood. Yet, over 70% of black children are born to unmarried mothers, a trend linked to cycles of poverty and emotional instability that no external prejudice can impose.
Racism doesn’t glorify drug usage. Cultural tolerance for substance abuse, from street-level dealing to normalized consumption, fuels addiction and legal troubles far beyond any lingering bias.

Racism doesn’t glorify gang culture. The allure of street loyalty, turf wars, and “thug life” aesthetics perpetuates violence in urban neighborhoods, claiming lives daily without racist enforcement.

Racism doesn’t glorify crime. When theft, robbery, and homicide rates remain disproportionately high, it reflects choices valorized in music, media, and peer groups rather than inevitable oppression.

Racism doesn’t glorify fathers not being in the home. Absentee fatherhood erodes discipline, economic stability, and role modeling, creating fatherless homes that statistics show correlate strongly with negative outcomes independent of skin color.

Racism doesn’t discourage pursuit of education or academic excellence. Cultural pressures that mock “acting white,” devalue delayed gratification, or prioritize sports and entertainment over rigorous study limit mobility more effectively than any barrier.

Racism doesn’t promote welfare dependency as a lifestyle. When generations view government aid as preferable to steady work or entrepreneurship, it fosters passivity and entitlement, not enforced by prejudice.

Racism doesn’t undermine the value of two-parent households or delayed childbearing. Cultural shifts celebrating early, unstable relationships over marriage and planning amplify poverty transmission across generations.

Racism. 90% of Black people are racist to the White majority, thus it inhibits their success in life. You have to be a team player to succeed, and they are not team players on average. In order to be a team player you have to adopt company culture. Their counter culture derives directly from their hatred of White people. They don't know their heritage, they have no cultural origin. They were taught White culture which primarily derives from Judeo‑Christian values and they rejected it at large because they didn't want to be like White people, they don't want to be American. As a result they do not integrate and their community is a mess. You do find Blacks that do integrate into American White Judeo‑Christian culture and they generally do well and have positive relationships with most people around them. So, yes it is racism, but it racism that originates in the Black community and is directed toward Whites and is almost universal across their community.

Or better poverty caused and increased by racism is the explanation of all these.

Poverty and a lack of education, as well as a grim or negative outlook on the future causes an increase in criminal activites.

And if racism and structural problems make it harder to achieve a higher education which makes it harder to find a job, which makes life harder for your kids, which traps them into poverty... than racism is the main problem.
