It would be nice if strong public figures promoted other parties. Democrats are lost. Republicans aren’t much better. Intelligent people who have been paying attention have grown weary of constantly having to choose between the lesser of two evils.
It’s only gotten worse as nobody chooses the high road anymore. Democripps and rebloodlicans get away with the worst behavior by justifying that their major opponents are worse, rather than refusing to participate in the grotesque sideshow politics scam.
The minority of people who are even vaguely familiar with the alternative parties too often vote ‘D’ or ‘R’ anyway, because they are afraid that their vote “won’t count”. Or somehow even if enough people agree, that instead a significant number of votes will just split the party and the “other” major party will win. And nothing is worse than that in this age of visceral tribalism.
Politicians are corrupt and voters are lazy and ignorant. The US is f*cked.

Both parties have flaws, but I reject the idea that they are equally bad or interchangeable. Policy outcomes matter. Border security, judicial appointments, tax policy, foreign policy, energy independence, religious liberty, and the size of government all have real consequences. Voting Republican is not just choosing the ‘lesser evil’ for many of us—it is choosing policies we genuinely believe are better for the country. Dismissing millions of voters as lazy or ignorant oversimplifies why people support one side over another.

Perfect example. The US has not meaningfully improved under the control of either party in decades.
The Clinton administration balanced the federal budget while republicans stalled on their own recommendations from previous years. Sabotage politics. They simply don’t want the other party to take credit for the work. Is that what you think is best for the country? 😂😂😂
Less than a year into the Bush administration, the balance was out of whack again, never to be restored since. This is supposedly the “party of fiscal responsibility”. Reject the truth all you please. It only perfectly demonstrates the laziness and ignorance to which i referred.

Mamdani can’t even run, he wasn’t born in the US. Gavin Newsom will likely be the Democratic candidate. I told myself I will never vote again (I won’t) and I’m done with both parties, but I do think Newsom sounds like a better option than the middle aged eyeliner wearing baby and the Cuban anchor baby duo.

I’m not convinced Newsom would be a strong national candidate. He may appeal to deep-blue voters, but California-style progressive politics do not automatically translate well nationwide.

The bigger issue is that the Democratic Party’s activist base keeps moving toward democratic socialism. If Newsom wants the nomination, he may have to either adopt more of that agenda or fight his own base.

Either way, that creates a general-election problem. I do not believe most Americans want democratic socialism as a national governing model. It may win in deep-blue cities and activist circles, but a presidential election requires winning swing states, moderates, independents, and working-class voters across the country.

High taxes, cost of living, homelessness, crime concerns, and expanded government control are not a winning national brand.

@Chazmatazz269 I wouldn’t doubt it, like I said I’m done with politics and for good reason. I don’t trust any of them, but this administration is taking it to a whole new level and these two clowns are part of it so compared to them Newsom seems like the lesser of the two evils.
